Read-At-Home Books

Success is theirs to keep

Access to books at home is one of the strongest predictors of reading success. But for many families, the cost to build a home library is far out of reach. That’s why, 6-8 times a year, we provide children with new copies of the books they hear during Storytime. These books are theirs to take home where they can be read again and again. And again. One more time. Please!

Picked with purpose

Our literacy specialists carefully select every Read-At-Home book—the very books children hear in the classroom and get to take home.

93% of families say Ready Readers books and materials support continued reading with their children at home.

Our curation process

  1. 01 Our team collects and considers potential Read-at-Home books all year long: reviewing each selection many times to ensure it will be a joyful read-aloud.
  2. 02 We prioritize books that feature diverse characters who are reflective of the children we serve– children need to have stories at home and school that look, sound, and feel like their daily lives.
  3. 03 All selections are age-appropriate and educational. We may also focus on building vocabulary, teaching social and emotional skills, incorporating rhythm and rhymes, or introducing STEAM concepts.

Anything that brings more books to kids is a good thing and there should be more of it.
