QuteCom (formerly WengoPhone) is a free, open-source softphone originally developed by Wengo and later maintained by the community. Built with the Qt framework, it is a cross-platform, SIP-compliant client for Windows, macOS, and Linux. QuteCom lets you place Internet calls using your SIP accounts, with support for multiple providers, multi-account management, contact management, and call history. It offers a straightforward interface, standards-based interoperability, and optional video and messaging features depending on configuration. As a lightweight, vendor-neutral alternative to proprietary VoIP apps, QuteCom emphasizes openness and compatibility.
