FAQs

Why choose PT Motion Lab?

Unfortunately no, we do not take insurance for payment of our services. All services are cash pay at the time of service. Our scheduling porthole will require you to provide a credit card or HSA card prior to completing the initial scheduling process. We are unable to accept insurance as medical insurance does not pay for the prevention and performance services we provide. Additionally, our highly educated staff represents the top 5% of credentialing for physical therapists, being well worth your investment in your health and performance.

If you require physical therapy for rehabilitation services, we can assist with this through our partnership with MTIPT can provide you with an invoice that can be submitted to your insurance for potential reimbursement.

To properly analyze your body and movement patterns we will need to see your extremity joints, the top of your pelvis and trunk. Therefore, please avoid wearing pants or long, baggy shorts and shirts. If your shorts are too long, they may need to be taped up so we can see the appropriate bony landmarks. Men may be asked to take their shirt off for the evaluation to better see the shoulder and trunk. For women, a sports bra may be recommended. Please wear the same type of shoes you would typically use when you walk or run.

Not all services are testing and providing results. If you are participating in a testing service you will receive verbal feedback and summaries of your results immediately following your evaluation. An electronic report will be provided within 2 weeks.

Upon your request, we will provide an electronic copy of your report to the person(s) of your choosing. We are also available to talk directly with your healthcare provider, coach or trainer to discuss our findings and your plan of care.

PTMotionLab (PTML) is a unique program that was founded by Jim Rivard, one of MTIPT’s founders. With over 30 years of clinical mastery of orthopedic manual physical therapy and exercise rehabilitation, Jim has brought the same innovation to Preventative and Performance as he did to founding MTIPT as a premier teaching and training center for orthopedic manual physical therapy. PTML’s  physical therapy staff have residency and fellowship training consistent with making them movement experts. There is so much more to movement than just regular training and exercise.

While traditional medicine waits for pathology to occur, PTML focuses on the cause of lowered performance and injury, as well as an eye toward injury prevention. Tissue breakdown and pain is often the symptom of a deeper biomechanical impairment involving both the hardware (joints and muscles) and software (nervous system). Testing joint motion and mobility of the nervous system is a foundational movement analysis step that is not performed in the athletic training and coaching worlds. Specific tests and measures provide data that leads to specific interventions, specific exercise design and specific dosage. Use data from testing your joints and muscles, measuring your movement and performance, to create a customized rehabilitation and training program.

PTML and MTIPT are partners and are run autonomously of one another. Some of MTIPT’s providers also work with PTML patients and patients are seen at MTIPT clinic locations, but are not affiliated. PTML does not accept insurance for services rendered and payment is collected from patients at the time of service.
