With the scholarships and discounts Phoenix Seminary provides, most students pay an average of $350/credit hour over the life of their degree program.
*subject to change, pending seminary acquisition.
Students taking courses for credit who maintain a 2.5 GPA and take at least two courses in the fall and spring semesters will receive 30% off the cost of tuition. (Students who take at least one course in the summer will be eligible for the scholarship in the summer semester. In general, students receiving a Distinguished Scholarship are not eligible for the Academic Scholarship while receiving a Distinguished Scholarship.)
The Academic Scholarship can be carried throughout your time at Phoenix Seminary as long as you maintain at least a 2.5 GPA and take two courses in the fall and spring semesters. The simplest way to pay for seminary is to be diligent as you pursue academic study. Academic scholarships are applied to a student’s net semester tuition balance after all other internal or external scholarships or grants have been applied.
Students can earn scholarship funds toward their degree program based on meeting certain application deadlines. Scholarships are applied in the form of $1,000 per semester for as many semesters as it takes to utilize all of the scholarship funds awarded.
Below are the deadlines for application scholarships for the Spring 2026 semester:
**If you are applying after these deadlines have passed, please reach out to your Enrollment Counselor or enrollment@ps.edu to ask about additional scholarship options.
Phoenix Seminary partners with local churches to help lower the tuition costs associated with formal seminary training. Students participate in leadership at their local church, and grow both academically and experientially, benefitting their local church in real time. Phoenix Seminary matches church contributions applied to tuition. In the Fall and Spring semesters, we match $200 if the church contributes at least $200. In the Summer semester, we match $100 if the church contributes at least $100.
We recognize that the ministry of married couples is a team calling. To encourage the spouses of students to participate in Phoenix Seminary classes and activities, spouses of students seeking a degree at Phoenix Seminary may enroll in credit or non-credit courses with no cost for tuition, provided that the spouse benefitting from the Partner in Ministry grant is taking the same amount or less credits than the paying spouse. The regular admissions process still applies to students interested in taking advantage of the Partner in Ministry grant.
Phoenix Seminary is grateful for those men and women who serve or have served in the military. To show our appreciation, veterans are able to attend Phoenix Seminary using their VA education benefits. Contact the enrollment team at enrollment@ps.edu to learn more.
All Phoenix Seminary’s credit programs are eligible for VA benefits. Only courses which count toward the degree will be included in the certification of enrollment. The VA’s progress requirements are the same as those stated in the Academic Catalog (see pages 33-34). To begin the certification process, a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) must be submitted to your Student Services Advisor prior to enrolling in classes. Phoenix Seminary will inquire about each veteran’s previous education and training, as well as request that the student obtain transcripts from all prior educational institutions. Previous transcripts will be evaluated and credit will be granted, as appropriate.
To apply for federal education benefits, review VA education benefits programs and determine which benefit you are eligible to receive based on your military service or transfer of benefits from your parent to you. All students (veterans and veteran dependents) must complete an application with the Department of Veterans Affairs. This application will start the process for you to receive your federal education benefit. Once you receive your VA Certificate of Eligibility(CoE) in the mail, you will submit this to your Student Services Advisor. The certification letter from the VA will state what federal education benefits you are able to receive.
All veterans and veteran dependent students that will be using VA education benefits must apply for them at vets.gov.
Please be sure to submit VA Certificate of Eligibility(CoE) and the Request for Enrollment Certification sheet to your SSA. Specific questions can be addressed to enrollment at enrollment@ps.edu.
If you have questions about any of the financial aid options above, please contact the enrollment team at enrollment@ps.edu.
These specialized scholarships are provided for students with specific ministry goals. They carry different requirements for GPA and credit load. For more information, please contact the enrollment office at enrollment@ps.edu.
