ProfHacks 2026 is a 12-hour, in-person hackathon at Rowan University where students build innovative projects combining hardware, software, and creativity. This year’s theme, “Space Cowboys,” challenges participants to create interactive games, purposeful tools, or autonomous systems inspired by both the wild west and outer space.
What makes ProfHacks unique is its focus on hands-on, physical computing—encouraging participants to go beyond the screen and build real, interactive systems using sensors, circuits, and embedded components. With mentorship, provided hardware, and a collaborative environment, the event is designed to be accessible to both beginners and experienced hackers.
