PressPrimer Quiz natively integrates with LearnDash, one of the most popular LMS plugins for WordPress. This integration allows you to embed PressPrimer quizzes in your courses, lessons, and topics, with automatic completion tracking.

Add a PressPrimer Quiz to LearnDash

PressPrimer Quiz automatically adds a metabox to LearnDash course, lesson, and topic edit pages. Within the metabox you can search for and select a quiz to include in that LearnDash post. When a PressPrimer quiz is mapped, it will be automatically shown beneath any other content on the page.

Quizzes can be mapped at the course, lesson, or topic level. When mapped to a course with “Restrict access until all lessons and topics are completed” enabled, the quiz must be passed before the course can be completed.

When a PressPrimer quiz is connected to a LearnDash lesson or topic, the Mark Complete controls from LearnDash are disabled and we mark the associated lesson or topic complete only when the PressPrimer quiz is passed.

Please note that if a PressPrimer quiz in a lesson or topic has ever been passed, LearnDash will mark whatever it’s associated with as complete. Here’s an example: Suppose a course has a lesson with a PressPrimer Quiz, and that lesson also has a topic beneath it. When the user completes the topic in the lesson (which they must do before they can access the lesson quiz), the lesson will automatically be marked complete if the user has ever passed that quiz in any attempt.

For a better user experience, we recommend adding quizzes at the topic level if a lesson has other topics, and at the lesson level if the lesson has no topics beneath it.

Permissions

LearnDash Group Leaders can create and manage their own PressPrimer quizzes. Group Leaders will only see quizzes they have created, while administrators can see all quizzes. Students and other roles cannot create or edit quizzes.

Important: While you can use PressPrimer Quiz shortcodes and blocks on LearnDash post types to show quizzes, doing so will not connect quiz activity to lesson or topic completion. Use the metaboxes to link quizzes to LearnDash courses if you want progress in quizzes connected to LearnDash progress.
