Why We Exist

I’m Ryan. I’ve spent over two decades trying to solve a stubborn problem for WordPress sites: how do we know if training actually works?

Before starting PressPrimer, I spent 12 years building and running a successful WordPress plugin company in the elearning space (acquired in 2024). Before that, I spent a decade in corporate elearning.

Through all of that, one frustration kept surfacing: the tools that actually measure learning either aren’t available or they’re not affordable for WordPress users. Individual educators, small training organizations, and course creators simply don’t have the same tools and opportunities in WordPress. I started PressPrimer to level the playing field.

What We Believe

Learning can be measured. Not just completion rates or time spent—actual knowledge retention and transfer. Our plugins incorporate and leverage well-established learning science that most quiz and assessment tools simply ignore.

WordPress is a serious platform for training. Millions of courses run on WordPress through LearnDash, Tutor LMS, LifterLMS, and others. These sites deserve assessment tools that match what enterprise platforms offer, not watered-down alternatives.

Independence matters. Building on my own means focusing on projects that genuinely excite me, even if they’re not chasing the biggest market. PressPrimer is about building tools that I wish existed for WordPress educators.

Source code for the free plugin is public. All plugins are developer-friendly with documented hooks, filters, and APIs. We’re not hiding anything or locking you in.

Your Data Stays Yours


The free plugin sends nothing to us—no analytics, no tracking, no personal information. Our premium plugins only send your site URL and license key. All user data lives on your server.

Fair Refunds


14-day refund policy on new purchases, renewals, and upgrades. No questions asked. We’d rather you feel confident purchasing than worry about being stuck.

Responsive Support


We respond within one business day. You’re not getting canned responses from someone reading a script; you’re getting help from the people who actually built the product.

If you’re wondering about the white squirrel in our branding: it comes from our team’s connection to Exeter, Ontario—a small town famous for its population of rare white squirrels. We thought it was a good and unique fit!

We’re just getting started. PressPrimer Quiz launched on WordPress.org in early 2026, and we have ambitious plans to bring premium plugins and features to WordPress educators.
