His professional background includes launching innovative businesses at global companies such as LexisNexis, and helping to build several early internet startups that now underpin the modern content and advertising ecosystem. Doug is motivated to equip schools with the tools they need to meet the changing needs of students and professionals in allied health, beauty and the trades.

Fun fact: Doug is fluent in Japanese and an active 911 paramedic on weekends.

With over a decade of collaborative experience building market-defining financial aid software products, Siana’s revolutionary approach to financial aid servicing strategically leverages technology along with her deep industry knowledge.

Fun fact: Siana grew up in Jamaica and graduated high school at age 16 when she enrolled into the University of Miami.

Daphne Dor-Ner leads product strategy and development across the platform. She brings over 15 years of experience building learner-centered tools at institutions like Western Governors University and companies like Pearson, Lightcast, and Exeter Group. Daphne has also served as a higher education technology consultant, helping institutions ranging from for-profit to the Ivy League modernize their systems. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in cognitive science from Northwestern University.

Fun fact: She’s been learning to scull (lifelong learner at heart!) and claims to have ‘too many’ cookbooks.

Kimberly Verga, Senior Vice President of Operations, Managed Services

With more than 15 years in financial aid leadership, including roles as VP of Title IV Administration and Campus President, Kimberly brings deep regulatory expertise and a passion for student access. She is a NASFAA-certified Financial Aid Administrator and holds an Associate of Science degree from Middlesex Community College. Kimberly believes financial aid is a critical enabler, making education accessible to all students regardless of their economic background.

As a co-founder of a leading career and technical education platform, Marc was critical in its success, building a strong sales infrastructure, finding the right market fit, and connecting cross-functional teams. At Portico, Marc oversees enterprise sales, specializing in GTM design and account-based growth. He is also an active mentor in the SaaS and EdTech sectors.

Previously, she held senior roles at Mongoose, where she helped promote their pioneering student engagement technology, and Direct Development, where she worked on dynamic marketing programs to grow enrollment. Driven by the belief that education should be accessible and personal, Natalie helps schools adopt tools and strategies that truly support student success.

Fun fact: Natalie prides herself on being well-rounded. Great at parallel parking, 99% solve rate on the bonus round of Wheel of Fortune, and bakes (boxed) brownies to the optimal level.

Edward Crowder, Vice President of Information Technology

She previously served as VP of Academic Operations at a multi-campus nursing school, where she led digital transformations and system standardization across states. Tina holds degrees in sociology, political science, and commerce and administration with a focus in HR management. Her background uniquely bridges institutional needs with system capabilities to ensure schools—and students—thrive.

Prior to Portico, he served as CTO at Veriforce and CAMP Systems, where he drove multi-platform integrations, scaled global engineering teams, and elevated development, quality, and product practices.

Fun facts: Ahmed is a competitive table tennis player, former cricket athlete, and proud father of two NCAA epee fencers. He’s a long-time fan of Calvin and Hobbes—often inspired by the quote, “If people sat outside and looked at the stars each night, I’ll bet they’d live a lot differently.”

Experience includes working for processors such as FIS and Worldpay, and leading payment operations at Automattic (the creators of WordPress). His background includes strategy and optimization efforts, as well as defining GTM work and commercial negotiations, to implement the most well-rounded payments landscape.

Fun Fact: Danny always prefers working with his hands, whether it’s restoring classic cars, or finding the next home project to work on.
