Sometimes a story doesn’t begin at a desk.
Sometimes, it begins with a question that won’t let go.
Years ago, while visiting my grandmother, I found myself paging through one of her old scrapbooks. Tucked in the back were two small gray folders—different from everything else.
Inside were two photographs.
One was a young soldier in a World War I uniform.
The other was a grave marker.
I remember asking her, “Who is this?”
She told me a story I never forgot. He was her first husband and he died in WWI. Until that moment I did not know she was married before she married my grandfather. There’s more to the story and you can find it on my blog on my website.
That moment stayed with me for years—long after I left that house, long after the scrapbook was closed.
And eventually… it became Remember Laura.
This is a story about love that refuses to be forgotten.
About time, memory, and the way the past can reach into the present when we least expect it.
If you enjoy stories where history and romance intertwine—and where love is strong enough to bridge generations—this one is for you.
