Permacorr can only be used on new carbon steel or on existing steel as a maintenance coating. It must not be used on galvanized surfaces, electroplate, or anywhere that residual zinc metal has been used. Permacorr is a very fast reacting, two-component coating that requires a 1:1 ratio plural spray pump with 30:1 ratio (or greater) for application. For specifications see our Permacorr Application Guide.

Yes! Permacorr offers a breakthrough solution for CUI prevention. Unlike standard anti-corrosion coatings, Permacorr forms a true chemical bond with steel at the molecular level. It has been tested and engineered for ambient to high-temperature service up to 250°C (498°F).

Permacorr does not require a topcoat, but it is recommended especially for UV and dirt protection. If a topcoat is desired, only topcoats approved by Advanced Polymerics Inc. should be used.

No, Permacorr is for external use only on carbon steel.
Yes. Permacorr will tolerate flash rusting, since it reacts with rust in a similar way to its reaction with steel. It can even tolerate rain droplets soon after application. For details see the Permacorr Application Guide.
In less than 5 minutes, Permacorr will be dry to touch. It needs a few hours to harden, and this depends on temperature as well as humidity. As a guide, Permacorr can tolerate rain within 30 minutes of application.
