1998 boxster, 160,000 miles. Code p0341, camshaft #1. Camshaft deviation on both banks is within specs as per Derametric and the Porsche system check., all three cam tensioners replaced, car run well. ns well.

READ ANSWERI need to have my 98 Porsche Boxster (all original and w/18,000 miles)) appraised for the insurance company . I realize that Boxsters are not the most valuable Porsche's but that is what they are requiring.

READ ANSWERI'm considering buying a 1998 Boxster that seller says needs a new clutch "right away." How much should I expect to pay for a new clutch? Is a Kevlar clutch recommended? Should other parts, such as the flywheel and pressure plate, be replaced at the same time as a reasonable precaution? Thx.

READ ANSWERI removed my passenger door handle to replace it with a carbon fiber one, when the door closed it will not unlock mechanically. I’ve tried pulling the door cable and hear the actuator engage, but it still does not open. I tried the key fob, disconnecting the battery, and the electronical lock inside. They all do not work, any suggestions?

Just purchased this 1998 Boxster. I was able to drive it about 4 times. Ignition key was difficult to turn. Currently the key will only turn slightly for instrument might to come on. Steering wheel lock is not operating. I’m guessing it’s the lock cylinder. Any suggestions? Spray silicone lube into cylinder?thank you.

READ ANSWER1998 Porsche Boxster, 5 speed manual. Does not go into gear while on, shifts through gears normally while off. I have replaced Master slave cylinder, bled breaks, cylinder and still does not shift while operating. Any suggestions?

I have changed the ignition previously to no avail. As the outside temperature starts falling below 70 degrees I struggle to turn the ignition. If it gets to be 50s or 40s I can't the the ignition key at all. If the temperature in the car warms up during the day I may be able to start the car.
READ ANSWERFor the past 2 years I have an intermitted issue with then car starting. This happens every so often. I will go to start the car and nothing happens, like a completely dead battery. I have had the car towed twice and already over $2K in attempt to fix by authorized Porsche dealer.

First they moved wires around under the dash and said they had this reported as a problem by Porsche. Then the latest was they replaced the ignition; it was bad as it look like some of the contacts had been burnt. After each repair the car would start every time for a month or two, making me think the problem was fixed. Then It would happen again. When it happens, I attempt starting by repeating the start cycle; sometimes after repeating it anywhere from 2-3 times and as many as a doze ...
