This one may or may not qualify, but it is a bit different, so I figured why not give it a whirl?
Weekly Photo Challenge . Unfocused 2
This is the back of the Pepsi Cola Bottling Plant in Danville, Virginia. It is a wee bit blurry, but for this challenge, works quite well.
The Dan River sports a reflective view, even though it, too, is a blur. I thought this was an interesting photo despite the fact that it is not a focused shot. Maybe it is the blues and the browns together, or the fact the houses on the hill above show up in the reflection, but not on the bank beyond the camera’s frame on the hill overlooking the river? Maybe it is the vertical trees reflecting back that offer subtle interest? This shot is so busy blending it’s features into each other, it is hard to tell? I hope you enjoy the shot, none-the-less.

Everybody, be on the lookout for this child. She might still be alive.

Weekly Photo Challenge . Together
This is a photograph of me and my six siblings together, taken in 1998. Since then, my oldest brother, and one of my sisters have passed away. So obviously there won’t be anymore pictures of us together…ever. We live scattered about the Country, so we don’t see each other often and there are very few photos of all seven of us in one place at the same time as a result of the miles between us.

I am obviously loving Jake’s theme this week. This one is almost as ‘up my alley’ as the landscape theme a few weeks back. So here is another example of shelter, I felt worthy of sharing with my fellow bloggers. Please enjoy. 🙂
This was another one of those photos I had to turn around, go back, and shoot. A stable with animals (mostly horses,no less) and a Christmas Wreath on the window above? Hmmm, I couldn’t help but take advantage of the opportunity to add this little number to my collection of roadside shots.
This article is worthy of re-blog. I hope you will read it, and perhaps if enough people re-blog, this child might be found through joint effort, hopefully alive.
Speaking with a brother blogger it came to our notice that an entire, albeit sad demographic ,could be benefited by our blogs. Missing Children. Just think about how if I post, repost or “Reblog” the face and facts about a missing child and my brother blogger does the same (actually he started this) and you do the same, and then so and so does so on his/her blog etc etc…. Can you imagine?
Tonight how many babies and children are not asleep where they belong? How many faces of children did you see today that are strangers to you? Is is possible? Could it be?
How would we even dream it possible without the facts and photos?
So here is my challenge today, this Sunday April 30th 2012. If you know God forbid, of a missing child share with us. And if you don’t know one thank God and now help us spread the facts and shining…

Sunday Photo Challenge . Shelter #2
My last entry in Jake’s Challenge for this week was rather humble, but this one tops that one. I’m sure the goats and sheep at Maymont Park appreciate this little Shelter, though, when the sun is beating down on a hot summer’s day.
Or maybe a piggy house is more up your alley.

This little piggy house isn't made of brick, but I doubt there are any wolves around either, so all is good in the neighborhood.

At night, the Maymont critters are taken into the barn until the next morning, when they are put back on display for everyone to enjoy. In the meantime, they are sheltered from the weather and any predators that might be lurking about in the dark.
Of course not all of the animals are suited for the barn, so they have their own shelter. Sometimes they prefer to sleep on top of it, instead of inside it.
Sunday Photo Challenge . Shelter
Jake has managed to come up with another fine challenge this week. And so, what can I do, but submit my idea of shelter?
Here is a humble example of storage. I love these old buildings that have been around for years and are still providing shelter from the elements.
