i'm onymous not entirely anonymous, perhaps synonymous, definitely eponymous, certainly not acronymous.

i'm onymous mainly because I don't mind if you know who I am, but I don't necessarily want those who know who I am to know I am onymous. connect the dots and you can work out who I am. onymous means having a name and as I was having trouble with self identity it seemed fitting

a middle age guy on the west coast of Scotland who's spent his life in love with music and now is making sounds to deal with the utter meaningless-ness of it all.

mid-life crisis much? privilege much?

my musical interest spans electronic, experimental, classical, free and improvised, jazz, hip-hop and all and anything in between. what I create is a reflection of this; it might be seemingly random noise or an attempt to produce something 'beautiful' - bearing in mind that beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

i am also more broadly interested in network effects, perspective, philosophy, socialism, abstraction, process, sonification and numeric series, and these may or may not find their way into my what I produce. i am seriously autodiadactic and have been called a polymath, though I'd say that's a seriously over-estimation.

i try to avoid being a manifestation of dunning-kruger and any number of other cognitive biases, which often ties me in knots and prevents me from moving forward due to an overwhelming sense of imposter syndrome. as such I go through huge periods of not posting here.
