He’s also an active blogger, waxing philosophical about a range of topics from writing, to martial arts, to politics and religion. JOSEPH J. BATTAGLIA

Joseph J. Battaglia was born in 1975 to a military family at the China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station, Ridgecrest, California. His father worked on base during the day, but at night he ran the town’s drive-in movie theater. This exposed Joseph at an early age to the movies that would influence his writing later in life.

Joseph played soccer, football, baseball, and roller hockey from grade school to high school. In 1994, he went to college, getting his first degree a few years later. In 1997, he accepted an invitation to try out for the Los Angeles Dodgers at a free agent tryout camp in Las Vegas.

Soon after, Joseph returned to school and earned his second degree in digital animation in an attempt to make video games for Sony and Microsoft. This led him to expand his video game ideas into longform stories and books.

His first book, Blood Moon, was published in 2021 by Victory Book Publishing. Joseph also enjoys music, and plays the drums and piano while writing his own lyrics and poetry. We look forward to more from this author as Joseph has other titles slated for release with Nightmare Press.
