It is with deep sadness to share the news that Patrick Kerr passed away on February 6, 2026.
Pat served as the Network and Security Administrator for the Nevada County Superintendent of Schools, responsible for ensuring reliable and secure Internet access for NCSOS and 8 additional districts.
He was a truly wonderful human: caring, generous, talented, and lovingly nerdy. Pat was deeply passionate about our mission for students, consistently contributing thoughtfulness, integrity, and expertise to every collaboration. His unwavering commitment to improving technology services for the students of Nevada County was evident in everything he did.
Outside of work, Pat loved bowling, magic, and comics, but cherished the company of others most of all. He possessed a magnetic personality that people naturally gravitated toward.
His passion for continually learning new IT skills was driven by a desire to better serve others. Anyone who had the privilege of working with him experienced firsthand the profound impact he made. His contributions, mentorship, and unwavering willingness to support colleagues have left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Pat will be remembered not only for his technical expertise but also for his generosity, professionalism, and deep dedication to public education.
Pat will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
