Josh Nelson, a fifth-generation carpenter, opened Nelson Builders with a simple mission: do the work right, every time. After briefly exploring the corporate world, Josh returned to his roots — choosing craftsmanship and integrity over business politics.
As Nelson Builders grew, so did our reputation. We became known not just for beautiful work, but for how we treated clients — with care, transparency, and respect. Homeowners began recommending us to friends and family, and referrals became the foundation of our business.
Nelson Builders was named to REMODELING Magazine's prestigious Big50, an annual list recognizing just 50 remodeling companies nationwide for exceptional professionalism, craftsmanship, and integrity. The honor reflected what our clients already knew: we don't just service customers, we care about them.

Josh Nelson grew up watching his father and grandfather build with their hands, which sparked his passion for craftsmanship. After a brief time in the corporate world, he realized his true calling was in the trades. In 2001, he founded Nelson Builders with a commitment to quality, integrity, exceptional client care, and gratitude to God for the path that led him there.
Josh started by swinging a hammer himself, building the company with a strong hands-on foundation. Today, he focuses primarily on leading the business and guiding projects at a high level. He holds the designations of Certified Graduate Remodeler (CGR), Certified Green Professional (CGP), and is a member of NARI.

We listen first. A short call helps us understand your goals, followed by an in-home visit to walk the space, take measurements, and discuss possibilities.
We bring you into our showroom to formalize the design phase, align on your vision, and collect a design retainer. This is where excitement begins.
Our designer creates floor plans, 3D renderings, and material boards, so you can see the transformation before construction starts. We refine until it’s exactly what you want.
All finishes, fixtures, and materials are locked in. We present a detailed proposal with transparent pricing, a clear scope, and a realistic timeline.
We order all materials, schedule trades, and finalize logistics. Your materials are inspected and stored in our warehouse — ready when we need them.
We protect your home and follow the schedule. At the end, we walk through together to ensure every detail meets our standard — and yours.
