Now Leonay Street, by the way, and my Aunt Kay still lives there. In 1957 we didn’t yet have a TV in Kirrawee but Grandpa and Grandma Christison did in Sutherland, so I think it was on a Friday afternoon that I would go to their place to visit – and watch TV, starting with something like Desmond Tester. Though I considered myself a bit too old for him (at 13/14) I watched anyway… I would probably have watched the test pattern…
After dinner we might watch these, and Grandma Christison was particularly fond of Liberace. Do you know who the others are, or what the shows were?
Grandpa Christison would be on the sofa by the window, I as likely as not in the chair next to the radio, and Grandma Christison on the other side of the radio and by the Kosi Stove…
Just nostalgia. But I was thinking back this past 24 hours, so this is the result.
