I was inducted into Kappa Tau Alpha, issued by the National Honor Society in Journalism and Mass Communication in April 2024.
My work on the Above the Fold was a finalist for the 2023 Region 7 Mark of Excellence Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists in the conversational podcast category.
I won best podcast host in the digital media student category from The Gracies in 2024. The episode I was recognized for was “Above the Fold: All Eyes on Women’s Basketball.”
The Daily Iowan won the 2024 Online Pacemaker from the Associated Collegiate Press. I worked at the assistant digital editor at the time of this award.
I was a finalist for 2023 Student Employee of the Year at The University of Iowa — a campus that has 8,746 student employees. My supervisor, Lois Gray, nominated me for my work on The College of Education’s communications team writing articles and creating engaging social media content. I was particularly involved with navigating the transition when the social media director on our team left.
The news podcast I produce, Above the Fold, took third place at the 2024 Iowa Newspaper Association awards banquet for Best Podcast.
Spring 2023 recipient of the Frank Luther Mott Undergraduate Scholarship and the Florence Ruebush Scholarship.
The Daily Iowan staff won first place in general excellence, community leadership and best newspaper website for our class at the Iowa Newspaper Association 2023.
The Daily Iowan won 11 first place awards at the Iowa Newspaper Association 2022 Better Newspaper Contest, including general excellence and best political coverage in our class. I was politics editor at the time of this award.

The entire staff also received second in the place in the state for web design and social media.
