Rob Sinclair Books in Order

Rob Sinclair is a British thriller author who worked thirteen years as a forensic fraud investigator before writing spy fiction. That background shows, as his plots feel grounded in real-world tradecraft and institutional corruption. He is best known for two connected spy thriller series, the Enemy trilogy, which introduced burnt intelligence operative Carl Logan, and the much longer James Ryker series, which continues Logan’s story after he goes off-grid under a new identity. He has also written the Sleeper 13 terrorism trilogy, the DI Dani Stephens crime series, the newer Simon Peake thrillers, and several standalone novels.

This page lists all Rob Sinclair books in order, including his series and standalone novels.

Enemy Series (Books in Order)

The Enemy series follows Joint Intelligence Agency operative Carl Logan, who is highly trained, deeply compromised, and running out of people he can trust. Set across European locations with fast pace action, the trilogy shows Logan being betrayed by his targets, his handlers, and ultimately his own agency. The James Ryker series picks up directly where this one leaves off, so the Enemy trilogy is the natural starting point for anyone wanting to read Rob Sinclair’s spy novels for the first time.

James Ryker Series (Books in Order)

The James Ryker series follows former intelligence operative Carl Logan, now living under the alias James Ryker after disappearing from his old life. Ryker wants out, but his skills, his past, and the enemies he made as Logan won’t leave him alone. The much longer series is set in numerous international locations, including Czech Republic, Scandinavia, and the Middle East. New readers can technically start here without reading Enemy first, but reading the Enemy trilogy will give a lot of background about who Carl Logan is and why he reappeared as Ryker.

Born in 1981 in the North East of England, Rob Sinclair grew up in several cities including Newcastle, Durham, and Birmingham before studying at the University of Nottingham, graduating in 2002, after which he worked for nearly thirteen years as an accountant for a global firm, specializing in forensic fraud investigations at both national and international levels.

In 2009, he began writing his first novel, after a remark by his wife, a committed thriller reader, that he could write something she would want to read. It was published in 2014 as Dance with the Enemy, and launched the Enemy series, introducing former intelligence agent Carl Logan. The Carl Logan books established his name as a British spy thriller author, drawing comparisons to Lee Child and Vince Flynn. He followed those books with the James Ryker series in 2017, which is a straight-up continuation of Logan’s story.

In the meantime, he left accounting behind to write full-time and, after working and living in New York and the West Midlands, he is currently based near Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife, sons, and dog.
