Medicare Help

SHINE – Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders

Are you turning 65 and have questions about Medicare coverage? Do you have questions about your Medicare benefits or billing? Call a SHINE Counselor!

Veteran Support

The Veteran Directed Care program is a partnership with the Veteran’s Administration and ElderSource. The program is designed to help Veterans remain in their homes and receive services from a caregiver of their choosing. Veteran Directed Care is part of the Veterans Health Administration Standard Medical Benefits Package.

Adults with Disabilities

People living with disabilities and their caregivers face many challenges in finding assistance. If your loved one is over 18 and living with a disability, or caring for someone who is, the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) HelpLine will work with you to find in-home care or community assistance programs. We have relationships with a number of agencies to give you support. In addition, our staff can screen you for eligibility for the Medicaid Managed Care Long Term Care Program.

Healthy Aging

Wellness programs supported by ElderSource improve the health and well-being of older adults, helping them live better lives and remain independent. Wellness programs help maintain or improve physical health, mental health, and social health. ElderSource works in partnership with the Northeast Florida Area Health Education Center (AHEC) to offer evidence-based programs to adults aged 60 and over. Classes are offered at no charge.

Elder Abuse Prevention

Elder abuse can occur in many forms, including physical, mental, emotional, or sexual. With your help, we can make progress in addressing and preventing future abuse.

Sharing and Caring Closet

The ElderSource Sharing and Caring Closet is a resource for Northeast Florida seniors and caregivers to donate and receive consumable medical supplies.
