The Cybersecurity Committee is committed to delivering comprehensive awareness content, fostering a culture of digital protection, and promoting best security practices to safeguard individuals and institutions against evolving cyber threats

Middle Technical University (MTU) is committed to implementing standards that ensure the security of data and information for its faculty, staff, and students. This is achieved by adhering to the regulatory policies set forth by the General Secretariat. The university has taken the following steps:

​​​​​​​ Assigning roles and appointing a Data Security Manager at the university presidency and a liaison officer responsible for receiving and implementing directives and alerts issued by the General Secretariat (Cybersecurity Center) and the Cybersecurity Committee at the Ministry of Higher Education

Formation of a Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CSIRT): Establishing a specialized incident response team at the university presidency and across its affiliated formations.

Training and Awareness Programs: Organizing training courses and awareness workshops in collaboration with the Center for Continuing Education, following the approvals recommended by the Cybersecurity Center.

The committees or teams responding to cybersecurity incidents in the university's departments are linked to the central committee through a liaison member who is part of the sub-committee. This liaison member’s duty is to communicate any incoming reports from the central committee at the university presidency to the sub-committee and to report any attacks or threats faced by the department to inform the central committee at the university.
The central committee at the university presidency, which is referred to as the cybersecurity incident response team, has the following responsibilities:

Developing plans to ensure the security of data and information and overseeing their implementation.

Approving the adoption of programs and systems after thorough examination and providing recommendations to avoid vulnerabilities.

Monitoring the implementation of the Security Policies Document across the university and its departments, while ensuring compliance with website security policies.
