As a follow up to my earlier post: I saw The Normal Heart last night. It was incredible and sad. It's such a surreal experience to be crying with so many people.
I got out of the theater right away and was in the second row behind the barriers, though not many people ended up sticking around (it seemed to be a much older audience than I was expecting). Lee only came out for maybe 10 minutes. He was really nice and went right on down the line. He signed my copy of The Fall (he said, "I love this movie.") and I got a picture with him, but he didn't seem to be in a particularly chatty mood and headed back inside fairly quickly.
He is sooo tall. It was first apparent when he came on stage and towered over EVERYONE (and also, damn that three piece suit was hot - rolled up sleeves + vest is A Thing I Find Irresistible). It was obvs. more apparent when I was standing next to him, though I'm pretty tall too so he didn't have to duck down for our photo. I maybe died and came back to life a few times.
Anyway, my nerdy self was shaking so hard I worry the picture I took of a woman and Jim Parsons came out super blurry.
I will consider posting my photo with him after I see it on my computer. I stupidly didn't bring my camera cord to NY with me, so it will have to wait until I'm home. In the meantime, here's the Twitgoo link to the autographed DVD sleeve:
