TasteAtlas:

Across Asia sticky rice is never just a simple dessert ingredient. It carries a massive cultural weight. The signature sticky texture physically represents family bonds and the idea of keeping loved ones tightly connected. This is exactly why these specific treats are absolutely mandatory during lunar festivals weddings and major family reunions.

Notice how almost all of them are perfectly round. That shape is completely intentional. It mimics the full moon and universally symbolizes a complete unbroken family circle. As the graphic shows the local fillings change completely depending on where you are but the deep cultural meaning behind the dough remains exactly the same everywhere.

LoveSecurely:

Most relationship communication falls into one of five patterns. Four of them slowly erode trust. One of them builds it.

Defensiveness refuses to own any part and makes excuses instead of listening. Stonewalling uses emotional withdrawal as punishment. Criticism attacks character instead of addressing behavior. Contempt is the most damaging of all because it signals that you've stopped respecting your partner as a person entirely.

Healthy communication sounds like "I feel this when that happens." It takes responsibility for your part. It seeks to understand rather than win.Knowing which pattern you default to under pressure is the first step to actually changing it.

Since it's Ramadan...

"Islam is like a RPG game where Allah gives us extra rewards like, if we pray in Masjid Al-Haram we gain 100k pahalas & doing Umrah during Ramadan gives you the same number of pahalas as doing Haj. Ramadan is like a bonus stage where your regular pahalas are multiplied a number of times and there's another GACHA that is Lailatul Qadar which we don't specifically know exactly on which day it happens. Ramadan Mubarak, guys "

Posesif, mengontrol, merendahkan—itu bukan cinta, itu kekerasan. ?
Kadang rasa “sayang” bisa jadi tameng buat kontrol dan kekerasan. Jangan sampai tertipu. “Aku marah karena peduli”—beneran peduli, atau manipulasi?

Red flag alert! ?? Bentuk-bentuk kekerasan ini termasuk:
1?? Posesif → mengatur hidupmu, melarang aktivitasmu, minta password.
2?? Merendahkan → memberi komentar negatif atau meremehkan dirimu.
3?? Manipulatif → gaslighting, bikin kamu merasa bersalah padahal bukan salahmu.
4?? Love bombing → mencintai berlebihan, lalu mulai menuntut “balasan”.
5?? Kasar verbal atau fisik → menghina, membentak, bahkan sampai memukul.
6?? Sentuhan tanpa izin → merangkul, pegang, atau peluk tanpa persetujuanmu.

Cinta seharusnya bikin aman, bukan takut. Kalau pasanganmu melakukan ini, itu red flag besar! ? Read More »

YAOI HAS ITS ROOTS IN FEMINISM. I studied this at a JP prestegious top Uni in Tokyo.

It started out bc women were tired of being the damsel in distress so they put guys into the role of the female lead. Men got so mad abt this they called them rotten girls, unfit for marriage

So the term Fujoshi was born as a slur but has since been reclaimed in online spaces and otaku spaces. Most modern Yaoi are even written with queer perspectives and experiences in mind. The older more "problematic" yaoi has its roots in history of samurai and wakushu where a lot of the harmful stereotypes of the "uwu submissive feminine uke" and the "tough straight tm bro seme" come from (look up and read books about the wakushu, very sad stories tho) I wrote a paper about this even.

SO YEAH i will kill on that hill don't @ me !!! Read More »
