Scout groups are invited to embark on an exciting journey of discovery at Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs, Arkansas. With hands-on exhibits, live demonstrations, and interactive learning experiences, Scouts can explore science, technology, engineering, and math in a fun and memorable way.

Whether your troop is working toward earning badges, building teamwork, or simply enjoying a day of exploration, a visit to the museum offers unique opportunities to connect with science through hands-on discovery and play.

From exhibit exploration to Scout badge workshops, Mid-America Science Museum provides engaging educational experiences designed specifically for Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and other youth groups.

Scout Badge Workshops

Mid-America Science Museum offers hands-on badge workshops designed to help Scouts complete requirements while exploring science concepts through interactive activities and demonstrations.
Workshops are led by museum educators and incorporate experimentation, observation, and problem-solving.
Badge workshops are available for both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts.

Girl Scouts

Space Science Explorer

    • Space scientists are people who study outer space—what’s in the sky. In this badge, you can be a space scientist as you look at the sky and talk about what you see!

Space Science Adventurer

  • Brownie
    • When I’ve earned this badge, I will know how to investigate and learn about the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars.

Space Science Investigator

  • Junior
    • When I’ve earned this badge I will understand that the Earth orbits the Sun and how far away the Sun, Moon, planets, and stars are from our home planet, Earth.

Space Science Researcher

  • Cadette
    • When I’ve earned this badge, I will understand more about the amazing properties of light and how we use it to make discoveries about the Universe and space science.

Boy Scouts

Super Science Badge

  • Bear Cubs
    • Bear Cub Scouts will learn about static electricity, buoyancy, and color-morphing while working on the Super Science adventure.

Adventures in Science

  • Webelos
    • Taking part in this Webelos/Arrow of Light elective adventure will help Webelos understand and apply the role of fair investigations in science. They will acquire and evaluate information using processes associated with science, such as experiments, observation, and note taking.
