It kicks off with a faithful reproduction of the Jackson Sisters’ iconic horn intro but then is immediately taken in a new direction with funky bass and beat, syncopated piano, snappy guitars and horns up and down in the mix. 

The combination of the three female voices is a masterstroke. Soulful, gritty in parts, bluesy and adorned with goose-bumping harmonies, their interplay with one another and the instrumentalists works really well as do the contrasts when sounds jump in and out of the mix. 

Then it is all over and we are left wanting to hit repeat. The production is pristine and it is obvious that a great amount of love, commitment and detailed arranging has gone into making this a cover that is both respectful of the original(s) and sufficiently fresh and distinct to offer a new perspective.”
