We are committed to making a difference in the fight against cancer, and we strive to join with others to help promote our efforts throughout Louisiana.
Our foundation is a founding member of CAGLA (Cancer Advocacy Group of Louisiana) which advocates for policies focusing on cancer patient's health insurance coverage needs and accessible screenings for all. To date, CAGLA has passed, through Louisiana Legislation, 11 new bills supporting cancer patients and now paying for procedures and treatments previously not covered by our state's health care insurance. Funding for The Precision Medicine Department at Ochsner Health Systems is led by doctor Mark Matrana.
We’re proud to partner with St. Tammany Health System to bring the Breathe Well ConneCTion—Louisiana’s first mobile lung screening unit—directly into our community. This initiative expands access to early detection, meeting people where they are and removing barriers to care. Through this partnership, we’re able to make a real, direct impact on individuals and families who need it most.
Each year, our foundation donates funds to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Specifically, we have established an endowment with them to fund free cancer screenings. We also provide gift cards for gas to help patients get to their cancer treatments.
