What I’m doing now

Hi, I’m Matthias. I’m a consultant user experience designer and web design engineer from Stuttgart, Germany. I run workshops on modern responsive web design, prototyping, and design engineering with teams worldwide and teach Interface Prototyping at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design.

This is my now page, on which I share what I’m up to besides my project work as an independent designer. If you have your own site, you should make a now page, too.

Writing

There’s a lot going on in terms of client work at the moment, so I’m focussing my writing on my newsletter, Own Your Web. I published a few articles on my site this year already, but it is still not the weekly or sometimes even daily cadence that I would love to be able to maintain. But I’m now fine with that. One must celebrate when one has the chance.

Reading

I haven't read a printed book in a while. Most of the time, I am listening to ebooks while doing household chores or working out these days. Currently, I’m “reading”:

Learning

This spring, I’ll be building a wooden terrace for our home. So I’m currently planning it – maybe a little bit obsessively – and am learning as much as I can about how to build it. YouTube is amazing in this regard. You can learn so much just by watching people do anything.

Speaking

I’m very much looking forward to speaking at this years CSS Day in Amsterdam and I’m still preparing my talk. If you want to come, there are still a few tickets left, as far as I know. Also, let me know if you will be there. ;)
