MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. TUESDAY APRIL 21, 2026.
' " 'I'M PRAYING FOR YOU'"
‘I have prayed for you…’ Luke 22:32 NKJV
WHEN SOMEBODY says, ‘I’m praying for you,’ there is no greater expression of love! The tragedy of religion without power is that it leaves you ignorant of the incredible potential of prayer. Prayer moves God! And when God moves, people and situations change! Jesus told Peter, ‘…Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren’ (vv. 31-32 NKJV). And God answered that prayer! In spite of his denial of Christ, Peter ended up leading one of the greatest spiritual awakenings in history, and two of the books in the Bible are named after him. Only eternity will reveal the lives that have been salvaged and ministries restored through prayer. There is no distance in prayer. Through prayer you can project yourself into any situation, at any time, anywhere on earth, claiming the promise, ‘…Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours’ (Mark 11:24 NIV). When the Philistines were about to annihilate Israel, Samuel said, ‘…I will intercede with the Lord for you’ (1 Samuel 7:5 NIV). And the result? ‘…The Lord thundered…against the Philistines…’ (v. 10 NIV). Perhaps this is what the old-timers meant when they talked about ‘praying up a storm’! God comes by invitation. Your prayers open the door to Him. Any time you pray in Jesus’ name, the Holy Spirit is authorised to go to work accomplishing things on your behalf that cannot be accomplished any other way. Remember that, next time someone says, ‘I’m praying for you’.

ii. THE WAY IS OPEN
"He heard that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. He began to speak with a loud voice, saying, 'Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me!" - Mark 10:47
Many Christians in need think: 'If Jesus were only on earth, I would go to Him for help.'
Yet when Jesus was on earth, the people only had limited access to God. If you were lucky enough to be at the right time in the place where the Lord Jesus was and if the crowd around Him allowed it, you could have an encounter with Him. He was a man of flesh and blood and could only be in one place at the same time.
An encounter with Jesus
While Jesus was still on earth, Bartimaeus was one of the lucky ones to meet Him. Bartimaeus shouted: 'Jesus, Son of David, take pity on me!' Jesus stopped and said: 'Call him.' Bartimaeus, who was blind, threw off his coat and was taken to Jesus, who asked him: 'What do you want Me to do for you?' The blind man said to Him: 'Lord, I want to see.' And Jesus responded: 'Go! Your faith has healed you.' At once Bartimaeus could see again and he went on with Jesus (see Mark 10:47-52).
There are many stories about people who went to great lengths to meet Jesus. For example, the man who could not move his body was let down through the roof in front of Jesus. The Lord Jesus healed him. The woman from the land of Canaan was lucky that Jesus crossed her path. After a lot of opposition, she received healing for her daughter because of her great faith.
It is wonderful that we do not have to go to Israel to be able to meet Jesus. We do not have to wait for Him to pass by to be able to speak to Jesus. No, we have access to God and can go to Him any time.
If you do not have a way out, God is there in the midst of the difficulties and you can call upon Him. He longs to help you. He is a merciful God and wants to forgive, deliver and heal you.
James 4:8 says: 'Come near to God and He will come near to you.'

Thou wilt keep
Moses Ishaku in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]: because he trusteth in thee. ⏤ Isaiah 26:3
True peace comes from knowing that God is in control. ⏤ Dwight L. Moody
O God, our Father, bless us as we go out for the day. Without Your blessing, life has nothing truly beautiful or good. Like children waiting for a father’s blessing, we wait to receive Yours. Grant us Your peace. Give us health and make us strong for the tasks ahead.
As we go our separate ways for our different duties, we place ourselves in Your care. Help us to avoid sin as we walk in the light of Your commandments. We have Your word—help us to follow it faithfully.
We want to do our work well. We don’t want to end this day with only the stained fragments of our efforts to show. We want to bring back a good report at the end of the day. Bless us as we turn to our tasks and duties now. We want to do Your will, not our own; to please You, not ourselves. Fill us with Your grace and love so that we will be gentle, humble, and submissive, and in all things aligned with You. Strengthen us with all spiritual strength and enrich us with all grace so that we won’t fail in our obedience.
We’ll have duties to others as we go through the day. Help us to do them well. Keep us from any feelings that would spoil the beauty of our character. Keep us from having a negative influence on those we meet. Keep us from envy, jealousy, bad temper, and irritability. Keep us from acting in ways that dishonor You or harm Your cause. Help us to bring sunshine and good cheer wherever we go so that everyone who sees us will get a little brightness from our faces and our words. Help us to be a blessing all day long, making our path like the shining light. Bring us all home together in peace at the end of the day. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.

31 Days To A Stronger Marriage – Day 30
Books for Healthy Relationships
‘May the Lord lead your hearts into a full understanding and expression of the love of God and the patient endurance that comes from Christ.’ 2 Thessalonians 3:5(NLT)
Your marriage won’t be defined by the size of your struggles but by the size of your commitment to overcome the struggles together.
Couples who make it work “til death do us part” aren’t the ones who never had a reason to get divorced. They’re simply the ones whose love and perseverance was always stronger than their reasons for quitting. Those two ingredients (love and perseverance) might be the two most powerful forces in a marriage. If you remain steadfast in your love for each other and unshakeable in your commitment to each other, your marriage will never fail!
Reflection: Are both love and perseverance at the heart of our marriage?

The power of the Lord was present to heal.
John 5:17
He could not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Matthew 13:38
Power to Heal
What a glorious truth that “the power of the Lord is present to heal.” But there was a place where His power to heal was not a present help in trouble. There was a place where He could not help them – because of their unbelief.
He Healed All
He was never unwilling to give, for over and again we read, He healed them all Matt.12:15. We read in Luke chapter 4 that, when the sun was setting, ALL those who had any that were sick with various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them” Luke 4:40
Almighty Power
God’s arm is not short. His heart is not cold – His power is not diminished.. for His healing touch comes through the almighty power of the almighty God – but He could not do many mighty works there.. because of their unbelief.” Matt.13:58 How sad –
Rich Blessings
God desired to pour out health and healing – but their foolish bias prevented Him. Their proud hearts were tightly shut against the rich blessings He brought.. hardened against Him, because of familiarity with Him! He desired to pour out on them healing and wholeness, but they dismissed Him. He came with rich blessings in His hands but carried them away with a sad heart.
The Open Heart
The heart that is open to His presence will gladly partake of all His grace and love. Some even are sufficed to gather the crumbs that fall from the tables of others: “For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance, but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.” Luke 19:26
Abundant Blessings
Oh yes, He will give abundantly and He will give more abundantly – pressed down, shaken together and running over. Luke 6:38 There is never any lack of power to save – nor any lack of blessings to receive, yet we may be near to Him, and miss out on the blessings He is wiling to bestow – for hardness of heart..
Prevented by Unbelief
He may approach us, desiring to impart rich gifts of strength, comfort and joy. He may come bearing gifts of wholeness and health; wisdom, love and help, and yet He may be prevented by unbelief – as He was that time so long ago, “He came unto His own and His own received Him not…” John 1:11
Channels of Blessing
We ourselves must be in a position to accept that which He comes to bring. We also must be in a condition to receive all that He comes to give – to welcome His gifts through whatever channel He chooses to send them. We too can close our hearts to Christ and keep His blessings outside our lives.. for weak as we are, divine Omnipotence will never compel His blessings upon us. There must be a willingness to receive. There must be a heart open to His tender advances.
Hearts of Unbelief
It is often because of unbelief, that God’s power is prevented from working within. He is able and He is willing and He is ever present to help in time of need.. but He will never force us to accept His gifts. That choice is ours and ours alone. “How often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and yet ye would not!” Luke 13:34
Willing Hearts
I wonder how many blessings we have forgone because of our unbelief. May our hearts be ever open to hear His voice. May our hearts be willing to receive the blessings He wants to give.

2. Evening Prayer for today.
i. Evening Prayer
I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety. ⏤ Psalm 4:8
Prayer is the nearest approach to God and the highest enjoyment of Him that we are capable of in this life. ⏤ Jonathan Edwards
Now, at the end of the day, our Father, we come back to You. You’ve heard our prayers. You’ve kept us from harm. You’ve blessed us in many ways. We thank You for all the blessings we’ve had today, for the health and comfort we’ve enjoyed. We now bring all that we’ve done today to Your feet. Whatever has pleased You—please accept and bless. The things we’ve done that didn’t please You—we ask for Your forgiveness and for You to cleanse our hearts from sin. The efforts we’ve made to help or comfort others—please accept and use them. We’ve tried to be cheerful in difficulties and discouragements. We thank You for the strength You’ve given us to endure. If we’ve cast shadows on anyone’s life today by fretting or discontent, we ask for Your forgiveness. We’ve tried to speak kind words to those we’ve met, and we ask You to use those words to bring cheer and courage.
Now, as the day ends and darkness surrounds us, we ask You to shelter us. You are our keeper. You never sleep. We will be safe through the night because You will be watching over us.
We don’t forget our friends. Some are far from us, but all are close to You. Some of our friends may be in trouble. Some may be in great need. Some may be near death. You know all their dangers and needs; please give each of them the blessing that will do them the most good. Remember the homeless and the lonely tonight.
Receive us now into Your care, keep us through the night, and bring us to the morning light if it is Your will. If not, bring us to Heaven’s morning, which is far better. We ask in Jesus’ precious name. Amen.
