• Good morning, brethren.

    1. Morning devotion for today.

    i. MORNING TEA
THE WORD FOR TODAY. SATURDAY APRIL 25, 2026.
"WAITING FOR THINGS TO CHANGE (2)"

'....I will wait, 'till my change comes.’  Job 14:14 NKJV

BEFORE YOU quit and give up in discouragement, consider the long and difficult process by which a butterfly emerges from its cocoon. If you try to rush God’s purpose and process in your life, you’ll produce something deformed, something that can’t get off the ground and fly. Perhaps you’re thinking, ‘I can’t wait for this to be over.’ That’s understandable. Job couldn’t either. He said, ‘All the days of my hard service I will wait, ‘til my change comes.’ But by God’s grace he survived, and ended up with twice as much as he lost. So hold on, your change is coming! God won’t give up on you, so don’t give up on Him! There’s a work going on in you right now. Something is dying that has to die, so that something better can be brought to life. Let it happen. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego told a king, ‘We will not bow down to your gods’ (Daniel 3:18). Don’t bow to temptation, or to manipulation, or to ungodly persuasion. Don’t try to keep up with the Joneses, or surrender to selfish ambition and self-promotion. Don’t bow to the spirit of anxiousness and impatience. Continue to walk by faith and not by sight, knowing that ‘…Bwambale Gilbert is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we are able to ask or think…’ (Ephesians 3:20 KJV). They say, ‘Good things come to those who wait.’ The determining factor is Who you are waiting for. God says there’s a purpose for all these things (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Wait, God will make the pieces fit together. He won’t disappoint you.

ii. WHAT IS OUR SACRIFICE COMPARED TO THEIRS?

"You are bringing unclean food to My altar." - Malachi 1:7

On October 16, 1555, two pillars of the Church of Christ, Dr. Nicolas Ridley and Mr. Hugh Latimer, were burned in Oxford, England, because of their faith. They only had one goal in their lives: to obey God more than people and to put God's Word above the teaching of a church. They gave the greatest sacrifice a person could ever give for the Kingdom of God: their life!

    They gave everything

Over the centuries - even today - many people have given their lives for the cause of Jesus Christ. They were killed in the most horrible ways. These are courageous people who were completely surrendered to God.

When those two men was burning at the stake, one man said to the other: 'Mr. Ridley, do not be afraid, on this day we will light a fire in England which I believe will never be extinguished again.'

What confidence and great testimony! What courage! What faith! They have given everything and there was a deep peace in their hearts that only Jesus could give.

Many people are willing to deny themselves to start something new. Many have the courage to do something, while it is beyond their means. But where are the people who want to deny themselves for Jesus, who dare to do something for Him, who are not afraid and have courage?

We often ask for a financial offer for missionary work. People are shocked because they think they will not have enough for themselves if they give. Some people align the Lord God with a street musician: when you give him something, you will not even notice this in your wallet. What a wrong thought. What a wrong attitude.

We have no time to lose. The saving gospel of Jesus Christ is to be preached everywhere. Man must know that salvation is only in His name.

Be a faith partner and support missionary work with your gifts and prayers. And above all: love Jesus!

    2. Morning Prayer for today.

    i. Morning Prayer

He hath showed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? ⏤ Micah 6:8

The closer you live to God, the smaller everything else appears. ⏤ Corrie Ten Boom

O God, just as Enoch walked with You, we desire to walk with You today. The world is full of dangers, and we can't navigate it safely without Your protection. The paths are tangled, and we could never find our way alone. We need Your companionship to make this day a blessing. So we ask that we may walk with You. We will try to be faithful—not running ahead of You or falling behind—but staying with You all day. May You walk with us and help us to walk with You.

We thank You for the rest of the past night. You have kept us safe. We lay down and slept, and You sustained us. You are our protector. All our blessings come from You. Give us grateful hearts as we begin this new day. We want to please You in all things, not straying from Your commandments. Help us, for while our spirit is willing, our flesh is weak, and we can't be faithful without Your strength.

Bless everyone in our home this morning, and give each of us a personal blessing. As we go out to our different duties, it may be that we shall never all meet together again; may we, therefore, part in love so that if we never come together again in this world, there will be no regrets in our hearts because of unkindness at parting. Bless our morning meal and give us wisdom for all the duties, tasks, responsibilities, and challenges of the day. May our influence be for good, leaving a blessing on everyone we encounter. Make us strong for our work. Protect us from the dangers of the day, and keep us near Your heart, giving us the grace, mercy, and peace we need. For Jesus' sake. Amen.

  • MORNING AND EVENING.
    Charles H. Spurgeon

    Morning.

    "Strong in faith."
    Romans 4:20

Christian, take good care of thy faith; for recollect faith is the only way whereby thou canst obtain blessings. If we want blessings from God, nothing can fetch them down but faith. Prayer cannot draw down answers from God's throne except it be the earnest prayer of the man who believes. Faith is the angelic messenger between the soul and the Lord Jesus in glory. Let that angel be withdrawn, we can neither send up prayer, nor receive the answers. Faith is the telegraphic wire which links earth and heaven--on which God's messages of love fly so fast, that before we call he answers, and while we are yet speaking he hears us. But if that telegraphic wire of faith be snapped, how can we receive the promise? Am I in trouble?--I can obtain help for trouble by faith. Am I beaten about by the enemy?--my soul on her dear Refuge leans by faith. But take faith away--in vain I call to God. There is no road betwixt my soul and heaven. In the deepest wintertime faith is a road on which the horses of prayer may travel--aye, and all the better for the biting frost; but blockade the road, and how can we communicate with the Great King? Faith links me with divinity. Faith clothes me with the power of God. Faith engages on my side the omnipotence of Jehovah. Faith ensures every attribute of God in my defence. It helps me to defy the hosts of hell. It makes me march triumphant over the necks of my enemies. But without faith how can I receive anything of the Lord? Let not him that wavereth--who is like a wave of the Sea--expect that he will receive anything of God! O, then, Christian, watch well thy faith; for with it thou canst win all things, however poor thou art, but without it thou canst obtain nothing. "If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth."

    Evening.

"And she did eat, and was sufficed, and left."
    Ruth 2:14

Whenever we are privileged to eat of the bread which Jesus gives, we are, like Ruth, satisfied with the full and sweet repast. When Jesus is the host, no guest goes empty from the table. Our head is satisfied with the precious truth which Christ reveals; our heart is content with Jesus, as the altogether lovely object of affection; our hope is satisfied, for whom have we in heaven but Jesus? and our desire is satiated, for what can we wish for more than "to know Christ and to be found in him?" Jesus fills our conscience till it is at perfect peace; our judgment with persuasion of the certainty of his teachings; our memory with recollections of what he has done, and our imagination with the prospects of what he is yet to do. As Ruth was "sufficed, and left," so is it with us. We have had deep draughts; we have thought that we could take in all of Christ; but when we have done our best we have had to leave a vast remainder. We have sat at the table of the Lord's love, and said, "Nothing but the infinite can ever satisfy me; I am such a great sinner that I must have infinite merit to wash my sin away;" but we have had our sin removed, and found that there was merit to spare; we have had our hunger relieved at the feast of sacred love, and found that there was a redundance of spiritual meat remaining. There are certain sweet things in the Word of God which we have not enjoyed yet, and which we are obliged to leave for awhile; for we are like the disciples to whom Jesus said, "I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now." Yes, there are graces to which we have not attained; places of fellowship nearer to Christ which we have not reached; and heights of communion which our feet have not climbed. At every banquet of love there are many baskets of fragments left. Let us magnify the liberality of our glorious Boaz.

    Numbers 17

The Budding Rod and Confirmed Priesthood

Numbers 17 follows the rebellion of Korah with a visible confirmation of God’s chosen leadership. To settle the dispute permanently, God commands each tribal leader to bring a staff, with Aaron’s name written on the rod of Levi. These rods are placed before the Lord in the tabernacle.

By morning, Aaron’s rod has miraculously budded, blossomed, and produced almonds. What was dead wood now bears life. The sign is unmistakable. God has chosen Aaron and confirmed the priesthood. The rod is then placed before the Testimony as a lasting reminder against rebellion.

The miracle communicates divine appointment and divine life. Authority in Israel is not inherited by ambition but granted by God. The blossoming rod also symbolizes resurrection life—life emerging from what appears lifeless. God validates His servant by supernatural fruit.
Theologically, Numbers 17 reveals that God settles disputes over authority by His own action. He does not rely on human persuasion but on clear demonstration. The priesthood exists by divine choice, not by human vote.

This chapter points directly to Christ. The budding rod foreshadows resurrection. Jesus, the greater High Priest, is vindicated by rising from the dead. His priesthood is confirmed not by lineage alone, but by indestructible life. Where Aaron’s rod blossomed as a sign, Christ Himself is the living proof of God’s appointment.

For believers today, Numbers 17 calls us to trust God’s authority and to look for spiritual fruit as evidence of divine work. True leadership bears life. God confirms what He appoints. Resurrection life remains the ultimate validation.

    Numbers 18

Responsibility and Provision in Sacred Service

Numbers 18 clarifies the responsibilities and privileges of the priesthood and the Levites. After confirming Aaron’s role, God defines boundaries and duties. The priests are accountable for guarding the sanctuary. The Levites assist in service but do not enter the innermost sacred functions reserved for Aaron’s line.

Holiness requires structure. Access to God’s dwelling place must be carefully ordered. This arrangement protects the people from judgment and preserves reverence. Service is both privilege and burden.

The chapter also outlines provision for those who serve. The priests and Levites receive portions from the offerings of the people. Because they do not inherit land like the other tribes, the Lord Himself is described as their inheritance. Their sustenance flows from their ministry.

This establishes an important theological balance. Sacred service requires accountability and dependence. The priesthood carries responsibility for guarding holiness, yet they also rely entirely on God’s provision through the covenant community.

Numbers 18 points forward to Christ as the ultimate High Priest who bears full responsibility for access to God. He guards holiness perfectly and provides eternal atonement. Through Him, believers become a royal priesthood, entrusted with spiritual service while depending on God as our inheritance.

For believers today, this chapter reminds us that service in God’s kingdom involves both duty and trust. We guard what is holy, steward what is entrusted, and rely on God for provision. Our inheritance is not material security but the Lord Himself.

Together, Numbers 17 and 18 reaffirm God’s appointed priesthood and establish its ongoing structure. Authority is confirmed by life, and service is sustained by divine provision. In Christ, the living High Priest and our true inheritance, these truths reach their fulfillment.

    Luke 24

The Risen Christ and the Commissioned Witnesses

Luke 24 declares the victory of the redemptive plan. The Son of God who was crucified now stands alive. The resurrection is not a symbolic hope but a historical reality that transforms fear into joy and confusion into mission. This chapter reveals that the Christ is risen, Scripture is fulfilled, and His followers are commissioned to proclaim repentance and forgiveness to the world. Christian living is anchored in the resurrection.

The chapter opens at the empty tomb. The women who come to complete burial preparations instead encounter a startling message: the living One is not among the dead. The resurrection fulfills what Jesus had repeatedly foretold. Death has not held Him. The redemptive plan has moved from sacrifice to triumph. The initial response is disbelief and wonder, reminding us that even faithful followers can struggle to grasp the magnitude of God’s work.

Soon after, two disciples walk the road to Emmaus, weighed down by disappointment. They had hoped Jesus would redeem Israel, yet they interpret His death as failure. The risen Christ joins them, though they do not recognize Him. He explains how the Law and the Prophets pointed to the necessity of His suffering and glory. Scripture finds its fulfillment in Him. As He breaks bread, their eyes are opened. The resurrection reframes everything. What seemed defeat is revealed as divine purpose.

The disciples rush back to Jerusalem, where Jesus appears among the gathered believers. Fear gives way to awe as He shows that He is truly alive, not a spirit but bodily risen. He speaks peace into their anxiety. The Son of God opens their understanding to see how all Scripture pointed to His death and resurrection. The redemptive plan was never accidental; it was foretold and fulfilled.

Jesus then commissions them. Repentance and forgiveness of sins are to be proclaimed in His name to all nations. The message that began in Jerusalem is destined for the world. The disciples are not sent alone. They are promised power from on high. The mission flows from the resurrection and is empowered by the Spirit.

The chapter concludes with the ascension. The Christ blesses His followers as He is taken up. Their response is not despair but worship and joy. The risen and exalted Son now reigns. The story does not end with the tomb but continues through a living Savior.

Luke 24 teaches that the Christ has conquered death, fulfilled Scripture, and entrusted His mission to His followers. The resurrection validates every promise and secures eternal hope.

For believers today, this chapter calls us to live as resurrection people. Are our hearts burning with understanding of Scripture? Are we proclaiming repentance and forgiveness boldly? The Son of God who was crucified now reigns in glory. Christian living is shaped by this truth — hope over fear, mission over complacency, worship over despair. The risen Christ stands at the center of history and at the heart of our faith.

  • Kenneth E. Hagin :
A friend whom I had known since he was a child, became a minister when he grew up. When he was in his early twenties he went to preach a service one night, and on the way back home, a fellow who was weaving all over the highway in his automobile hit this minister’s car head on.
At this time the young minister and his wife were living with the minister’s father who was a pastor. The father got a call from the hospital and was told that his son had been in a car wreck.
When the father got there, the doctors told him that his son’s neck and back were broken, and that he was paralyzed from his waist down and was unconscious. The doctor said the young minister would always be paralyzed to some extent, and they doubted if he would ever make much improvement. Actually, the doctors couldn’t understand why he wasn’t dead. They put him in a full-body cast. His neck and his back were broken, and he was unconscious. The father stayed by his son’s bedside all night. At one point, his son had temporarily regained consciousness but had again lapsed back into unconsciousness.
The next night when the father went to the hospital, the young man was still unconscious. The father told the nurses he was going to stay and pray at his son’s bedside.
The young minister regained consciousness for a little while again that night. The father told his son to blink his eyes if he could understand what he was saying to him, so the son blinked his eyes. Then the young man lapsed back again into unconsciousness. The father stayed by his bedside and prayed. He began to pray at 8:00 in the evening. At 12:00 midnight, the father was still praying in tongues. He heard the nurse come in, but he never opened his eyes; he just kept on praying. He prayed about ten hours in tongues.
Early the next morning at about 6:00, the father got up and went over to his son. He saw that his son was lying there with his eyes open. He asked his son if he could hear him, and his son spoke up and said he could. The young man told the father that he was all right and that God had healed him. The young man began to wiggle his fingers and toes; he had feeling all over his body.
The nurse and the doctor came in, and they both said it was truly amazing; it was a miracle! The young minister told them that God had healed him and that he wanted the doctor to take the cast off. He told the doctor that he would find that the two breaks in his back and neck were healed and that he was all right.
After much persuasion the doctor took the young minister and x-rayed his spine. The doctor came back and said he just couldn’t believe it! He couldn’t even find where his back had been broken. God had mended it so that it was just as normal as it was before! The doctor examined the X rays again and still couldn’t find anything. So they kept the young man hospitalized for a day or two and kept checking him. They told him to wear a neck brace for a little while, but he went home and took it off.
Years later this man was still all right. He’s been out preaching the gospel for years. The church had prayed about it, but the father got the job done when he began to pray in the Spirit. He got the help of the Holy Ghost. You increase your power in prayer one hundred percent by praying in other tongues!
Many times I have prayed in tongues for hours, and in that time the tongues have changed and I have spoken half a dozen different tongues or languages. Many times as the tongues would change, God would let me see foreign people. I would see foreign houses and buildings. That vision would stay before me all the time I was praying in tongues. I didn’t know what tongues I was praying in, but I knew I was praying for those foreign people in their native tongue.
In some cases, I would later pick up a Pentecostal magazine and see the picture of the very folks for whom I was praying. I would read about a revival that broke out in that area. I believe the Spirit of God enabled me to have a part in it. You can stay home and have a part in the work of God around the world. There are more ways than one to “go” and take the gospel around the world.
    - Kenneth E Hagin
Kenneth E. Hagin : A friend whom I had known since he was a child, became a minister when he grew up. • DAILY BIBLE LESSON.
THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IN BIBLE PROPHECY.

Please, share this study with your family, friends co-workers, and all who you can, for the expansion of the Kingdom of GOD.

Can it really be true—the United States in Bible prophecy? Absolutely! When you think about it, it makes sense that the most powerful and influential nation on earth will play a vital role in the final stunning events of the world’s closing history.

The beast of Revelation 13:11-18 symbolizes America. Which nation was predicted to arise around the time the papacy was receiving its deadly wound?

“I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon” (Revelation 13:11).

Prophecy predicted that America would arise from a sparsely settled area. The papal captivity mentioned in verse 10 took place in 1798, and the new power (verse 11) was seen emerging at that time. The United States declared its independence in 1776, voted the Constitution in 1787, adopted the Bill of Rights in 1791, and was clearly recognized as a world power by 1798. The timing obviously fits America. No other power could possibly qualify.

What is symbolized by its two lamb-like horns and absence of crowns?

Answer: Horns represent kings and kingdoms or governments (Daniel 7:24; 8:21). In this case, they represent the United States’ two governing principles: civil and religious liberty. These two principles have also been labeled “republicanism” (a government without a king) and “Protestantism” (a church without a pope). Other nations since ancient times had taxed people to support a state religion. Most had also oppressed religious dissidents. But the United States established something entirely new: freedom to worship without government interference. Absence of crowns signifies a republican form of government, rather than a monarchy. Lamb-like horns denote an innocent, young, non-oppressive, peace-loving, and spiritual nation. (Jesus is referred to as a lamb 28 times in Revelation.)

Special Note: How we wish we could stop right here in Jesus’ description of the United States—but we can’t, because He didn’t stop. What comes next might be jolting. The United States is a great country, with its freedom of conscience, press, speech, and enterprise; its opportunities; its sense of fair play; its sympathy for the underdog; and its Christian orientation. It is not perfect, but even still, a host of people from around the world seek to become its citizens every year. Sadly, this richly blessed country will change drastically.

What does Revelation 13:11 mean when it says the United States will speak “like a dragon”?

The dragon is Satan, who works through various earthly powers to establish his own kingdom and to crush God’s church by persecuting and destroying God’s people. Satan’s aim always has been to usurp God’s throne and to force people to worship and obey him. So, speaking as a dragon means the United States (under the influence of Satan) will, in the end time, force people to worship contrary to conscience or be punished.

What specifically will the United States do that will cause it to speak as a dragon?

Answer: Notice these four crucial points:

    A. “Exercises all the authority of the first beast” (Revelation 13:12) The United States will become a persecuting power that will force people to go against their conscience, as did papal Rome—which is portrayed in the first half of Revelation chapter 13.

    B. “Causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed” (Revelation 13:12). The United States will lead the nations of the world in forcing allegiance to the papal antichrist. The issue is always worship. Who will you worship and obey? Will it be Christ, your Creator and Redeemer, or antichrist? Every soul on earth will finally worship one or the other. Satan’s approach will appear to be deeply spiritual, and incredible miracles will be seen (Revelation 13:13, 14)—which will deceive billions (Revelation 13:3). Those who refuse to join this movement will be considered divisive, stubborn, radical, and unpatriotic. Jesus labeled Protestant America of the end time a “false prophet” (Revelation 19:20; 20:10), because it will appear spiritual and trustworthy but instead will be satanic in its conduct. All this may seem impossible, but Jesus’ words are always reliable and true (Titus 1:2). He foretold the rise and fall of the four world empires and the antichrist (Daniel chapters 2 and 7) at a time when such predictions seemed outlandish and incredible. But all came to pass precisely as predicted. His warning to us today regarding prophecy is, “I have told you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe” (John 14:29).

    C. “Telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived” (Revelation 13:14). The United States will make an image to the beast by legislating religious practice. It will pass laws requiring worship and force people to either obey them or face death. This action is a copy—or “image”—of the church-state form of government the papacy ruled with at the height of her power during the Middle Ages, when millions were slain for their faith. The United States will combine civil government and apostate Protestantism in a “marriage” that will support the papacy. It will then influence all the nations of the world to follow her example. Thus, the papacy will gain worldwide support.

    D. “And cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed” (Revelation 13:15). The United States, as head of this international movement, will next influence the nations of the world to impose a death sentence upon all who refuse to worship the beast or his image. Another name for this worldwide coalition is “Babylon the Great.” (See Study Guide 22 for more information.) This worldwide alliance will, in the name of Christ, substitute the policeman’s power for the Holy Spirit’s gentle persuasion—and it will force worship.

Over what specific issues will force be utilized and the death sentence passed?
“He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name” (Revelation 13:15–17).

Answer: The final points of contention will be worshiping and obeying the beast and receiving his mark—honoring Sunday as a false holy day versus worshiping and obeying Christ and receiving His mark by honoring the holy seventh-day Sabbath. When the issues become clear and people are forced to break the Sabbath or be killed, those who then choose Sunday will be, in essence, worshiping the beast. They will have chosen to obey the word of a creature, a man, instead of the word of their Creator, Jesus Christ. Here is the papacy’s own statement: “The church changed Sabbath to Sunday and all the world bows down and worships upon that day in silent obedience to the mandates of the Catholic Church” (Hartford Weekly Call, February 22, 1884).

Could a government really control buying and selling?
Answer: : During World War II, buying was controlled by requiring ration stamps for such items as sugar, tires, and fuel. Without these stamps, money was worthless. In this computerized age, a similar system would be easy to set up. For instance, unless you agreed to cooperate with the worldwide coalition, your Social Security Number could be entered into a database, showing that you are disqualified to make a purchase. No one knows precisely how all this will come about, but you can
be positive it will happen—because in Revelation 13:16, 17, God says it will.

    Two Emerging Powers
Revelation chapter 13 is clear. Two superpowers will emerge in the end time: the United States of America and the papacy. The United States will support the papacy by leading a drive to force the people of the world to worship the beast power (papacy) and receive his mark or else face death.

  • The Book of Philemon:
A Testament to the Power of Forgiveness through Christ
By Robert Mahlaule DipTheol (BDiv. Student _CLI)
My essay by way of a brief reviewing of the above-mentioned epistle is a reminder to us Christians that our salvation is through God’s forgiveness to all mankind. He forgave us before the creation. St Paul calls it: “ …God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began” (1 Corinthians 2:7 NIV). As a result we are all bound to forgive.

    Introduction

The Book of Philemon is a small but powerful epistle in the New Testament of the Bible. Written by the Apostle Paul to his friend Philemon, the book deals with the complex issue of forgiveness and reconciliation in the context of a master-slave relationship. Through this book, Paul demonstrates the transformative power of forgiveness through Christ, highlighting its importance in maintaining healthy relationships and promoting spiritual growth.

    Background and Context

The Book of Philemon is set against the backdrop of the ancient Roman Empire, where slavery was a common practice. Philemon, a wealthy Christian, owned a slave named Onesimus, who had run away from his master. Onesimus had made his way to Rome, where he met Paul, who was imprisoned at the time. Under Paul's guidance, Onesimus became a Christian, and Paul saw an opportunity to demonstrate the power of forgiveness and reconciliation.

    The Letter to Philemon

Paul's letter to Philemon is a masterpiece of diplomacy and persuasion. He begins by expressing his gratitude to Philemon for his faith and his support for the church (Philemon 1:4-7). He then introduces the topic of Onesimus, describing him as a "brother" and a "fellow servant" (Philemon 1:16). Paul acknowledges that Onesimus had wronged Philemon by running away, but he appeals to Philemon's Christian character, urging him to forgive Onesimus and welcome him back as a brother (Philemon 1:17-21).

    The Concept of Forgiveness

The Book of Philemon highlights the importance of forgiveness in Christian relationships. Paul's appeal to Philemon is based on the principle of forgiveness that is central to the Christian faith. Jesus taught his followers to forgive others, just as God forgives them (Matthew 6:14-15). Forgiveness is not just a moral obligation; it is a fundamental aspect of the Christian life.

Through the story of Philemon and Onesimus, Paul demonstrates the transformative power of forgiveness. By forgiving Onesimus, Philemon is not only restoring their master-slave relationship but also demonstrating his commitment to the Christian values of love, mercy, and forgiveness. Forgiveness is not just a feeling; it is a choice that requires effort and commitment.

The Role of Christ in Forgiveness

The Book of Philemon emphasizes the role of Christ in forgiveness. Paul writes that Onesimus is now a "brother" in Christ, and that Philemon should forgive him for Christ's sake (Philemon 1:16-17). This emphasizes that forgiveness is not just a human act but a divine one, made possible through the sacrifice of Christ.

Christ's death on the cross is the ultimate expression of forgiveness, demonstrating God's willingness to forgive humanity for its sins. Through Christ, believers are forgiven and reconciled to God, and they are called to extend that forgiveness to others. Forgiveness is not just a moral obligation; it is a fundamental aspect of the Christian life, made possible through the power of Christ.

    Conclusion

The Book of Philemon is a powerful testament to the transformative power of forgiveness through Christ. Through the story of Philemon and Onesimus, Paul demonstrates the importance of forgiveness in Christian relationships, highlighting its role in maintaining healthy relationships and promoting spiritual growth.

Forgiveness is not just a feeling; it is a choice that requires effort and commitment. It is a divine act, made possible through the sacrifice of Christ. As believers, we are called to extend forgiveness to others, just as God has forgiven us through Christ.

In a world marked by conflict, division, and hurt, the message of Philemon is more relevant than ever. Forgiveness is not just a moral obligation; it is a fundamental aspect of the Christian life, made possible through the power of Christ.

    Amazing Facts # 21

    The USA in Bible Prophecy.

Can it really be true? America in Bible prophecy - absolutely! When you think about it, it makes sense that the most powerful and influential nation on earth will play a vital role in the final stunning events of the world's closing history. But even more surprises await you as the Bible reveals how the leading nation of the world came to exist and why! Please read Revelation 13:11-18 before beginning this guide, because these eight verses give a prophetic picture of America in the days ahead. 1. Two world powers are symbolized in Revelation chapter 13. What is the first power? Answer: The beast with seven heads (Revelation 13:1-10) is none other than the Roman papacy. (See Study Guide 15 for a complete study on this topic.) Remember that beasts in Bible prophecy symbolize nations or world powers (Daniel 7:17, 23). 2. In what year was the papacy predicted to lose its world influence and power? "Power was given unto him to continue forty and two months." Revelation 13:5. Answer: The Bible predicted that the papacy would lose its world influence and power at the end of the 42 months. This prophecy was fulfilled in 1798, when Napoleon's General Berthier took the pope captive and the papal power received its deadly wound. (For the full details, see Study Guide 15.) 3. Which nation was predicted to arise around the same time the papacy was receiving its deadly wound? "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon." Revelation 13:11. Answer: The papal captivity mentioned in verse 10 took place in 1798, and the new power (verse 11) was seen emerging at that time. The United States declared its independence in 1776, voted the Constitution in 1787, adopted the Bill of Rights in 1791, and was clearly recognized as a world power by 1798. The timing obviously fits America. No other power could possibly qualify. The beast of Revelation 13:11-18 symbolizes America. 4. What is the significance of the beast "coming up out of the earth?" Answer: This nation arises "out of the earth" instead of out of the water as did the other nations mentioned in Daniel and Revelation. We know from Revelation that water symbolizes areas of the world that have a large population. "The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues." Revelation 17:15. Therefore, the earth represents the opposite. It means that this new nation would arise in an area of the world that had been virtually unpopulated before the late 1700s. It could not arise among the crowded and struggling nations of the Old World. It had to come up in a sparsely populated continent. Prophecy predicted that America would arise from a sparsely settled area. 5. What is symbolized by its two lamb-like horns and absence of crowns? Answer: Horns represent kings and kingdoms, or governments (Daniel 7:24; 8:21). In this case, they represent America's two governing principles: civil and religious liberty. These two governing principles have also been labeled "republicanism" (a government without a king) and "Protestantism" (a church without a pope). Other nations since ancient times had taxed people to support a state religion. Most had also oppressed religious dissidents. But America established something entirely new: Freedom to worship as you wish without government interference or control--and with government protection. Absence of crowns signifies a republican form of government, rather than a monarchy. Lamb-like horns denote an innocent, young, nonoppressive, peace-loving, and spiritual nation. Jesus is referred to as a lamb 28 times in Revelation. So this new government was trying to uphold His principles. No other power on earth could possibly fit the characteristics and time slot of the lamb-horned beast, except America. Special Note: How we wish we could stop right here in Jesus' description of America--but we can't, because He didn't. What comes next is jolting and disquieting. America is truly a great country--with its freedom of conscience, press, speech, and enterprise; the protection it provides; its golden opportunities; its sense of fair play; its sympathy for the underdog; and its strong Christian orientation. It is not perfect, but even still a host of people from other countries hasten to become American citizens every year. If America's doors were opened wide, a vast portion of the people of the world would move to the United States at once--to "heaven on earth" as they perceive it. Sadly, this richly blessed country will change drastically in the days just ahead, precipitating unparalleled heartache and woe for God's people. We report it with reticence and deep concern. 6. What does it mean when the prophecy in Revelation 13:11 says America will speak "as a dragon"? Answer: As we learned in Study Guide 20, the dragon is Satan, who works through various governments of the earth to establish his evil kingdom and crush God's church by persecuting and destroying His people. Satan's aim always has been to usurp God's power and throne and to force people to worship and obey him. (See Study Guide 2 for details.) So "speaking as a dragon" means that the United States (under the influence of Satan) will, in the end time, force people to worship contrary to conscience or be punished. America in the end time will force people to either worship or be punished. 7. What specifically will America do that will cause it to speak as a dragon? Answer: Notice the four crucial points: A. "Exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him." Revelation 13:12. America will become a persecuting power that will force people to go against their conscience, as did papal Rome--which is portrayed in the first half of Revelation chapter 13. B. "Causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed." Revelation 13:12. The United States will lead the nations of the world in forcing worship of, and allegiance to, the papal Antichrist. The issue is always worship. Who will you worship and obey? Will it be Christ your Creator and Redeemer, or Antichrist? Every soul on earth will finally worship one or the other. The entire approach will appear to be deeply spiritual. Incredible miracles will be wrought (Revelation 13:14, 15) which will deceive billions (Revelation 13:3). Those who refuse to join this movement will be considered godless radicals. Jesus labels Protestant America of the end time a "false prophet" (Revelation 19:20; 20:10), because it will appear spiritual and trustworthy but instead will be satanic in its conduct. All this may seem impossible, but Jesus' words are always totally reliable and true (Titus 1:2). He foretold the rise and fall of the four world empires and the Antichrist (Daniel chapters 2 and 7) at a time when such predictions seemed outlandish and incredible. But all came to pass precisely as predicted. His warning to us today regarding prophecy is, "I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe." John 14:29. Apostate religion and civil government will unite in the end time to force people's consciences. C. "Saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live." Revelation 13:14. The United States will make an image to the beast by legislating religious practice. It will pass laws requiring worship and force people to either obey them or face death. This action is a copy or image of the church-state combination that the papacy utilized at the height of her power during the Middle Ages, when millions were slain for their faith. America will combine civil government and apostate Protestantism in a "marriage" that will support the papacy. It will then influence all the nations of the world to follow her example. Thus, the papacy will gain worldwide support. D. "And cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed." Revelation 13:15. The United States, as head of this international movement, will next influence the nations of the world to impose a universal death sentence upon all who refuse to worship the beast or his image. Another name for this worldwide coalition is "Babylon the Great." (Study Guide 22 will provide more information.) This worldwide alliance will, in the name of Christ, substitute the policeman's power for the Holy Spirit's persuasion and will force worship. 8. Over what specific issues will force be utilized and the death sentence passed? "And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." Revelation 13:15-17. Answer: The final points of contention will be worshiping and obeying the beast and receiving his mark--Sunday as a holy day--versus worshiping and obeying Christ and receiving His mark--His holy seventh-day Sabbath. (For details, see Study Guide 20.) When the issues become clear and people are forced either to worship on Sunday and break the Sabbath or be killed, those who then choose Sunday rather than Sabbath will be, in essence, worshiping the beast. They will have chosen to obey the word of a creature, a man, instead of the word of their Creator, Jesus Christ. Here is the papacy's own statement: "The church changed Sabbath to Sunday and all the world bows down and worships upon that day in silent obedience to the mandates of the Catholic Church." Hartford Weekly Call, February 22, 1884. 9. Could a government really control buying and selling? Answer: During World War II, buying was controlled for some items (such as sugar, tires, and auto fuel) by requiring ration stamps. Without stamps, money was worthless. In this highly computerized age, a system based on your Social Security number could easily be set up. Unless you agreed to cooperate with the worldwide coalition, your number, when punched in before a purchase, could show you disqualified. We do not know precisely how all this will come about. But we can be positive it will happen because in Revelation 13:16, 17, God says it will. Two Emerging Powers Revelation chapter 13 is clear. Two superpowers will emerge in the end time: the United States of America and the papacy. The United States of America will support the papacy by leading a drive to force the people of the world to worship the beast (papacy) and receive his mark or else face death. The next two questions will evaluate the strengths of these two superpowers. 10. How strong and influential is the papacy today? Answer: She is by far the strongest religio-political power in the world. Virtually every leading country of the world has an official ambassador or state representative at the Vatican. Notice the following facts: A. The papacy is so influential and powerful that nearly every major country consults her before making major policy moves. Her "large diplomatic corps maintains relations with more than 100 nations." U.S. News and World Report, October 30, 1978, p. 24. The papacy is the strongest religio-political power on earth. B. She takes the credit for the demise of communism, saying that Mary, Jesus' mother, guided the pope's strategy that brought down communism. "Handmaid or Feminist," Time, December 30, 1991, pp. 64, 65. C. The aim of the pope is to unify the Christian world under the leadership of the papacy by the end of this century. He has made more than 40 world trips to lay the ground work for this goal. The pope is an extremely popular world leader. Gene H. Hogberg, The Plain Truth, November/December 1989, pp. 24, 25. D. The worldwide response has been almost overwhelming. During the Iraqi crisis, the pope and America's president sometimes discussed world affairs weekly by phone. U.S. News and World Report, August 13, 1990, p. 18. E. On June 7, 1982, former President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II met for 50 minutes at the Vatican and structured a plan to eliminate communism. The United States shipped tons of modern communication equipment to Poland (the starting place) to help spread necessary information to the masses. "The Holy Alliance," Time, February 1992, pp. 28, 31, 35. F. Gorbachev said, "Everything which took place in Eastern Europe in recent years would have been impossible without the Pope's efforts and the enormous role, including the political role, which he played in the world arena." Mikhail Gorbachev, Toronto Star, March 9, 1992. The papacy, which formerly referred to Protestants as "heretics," is now calling them "separated brethren" and graciously suggesting that all work and pray together for peace and God's presence. Millions of Protestants are deeply impressed. In fact, several Protestant denominations have had official dialog with the papacy to try to settle the differences that caused the Reformation. 11. How strong and influential is the United States today? Answer: The United States is regarded as the world's number one military power and center of influence. Note the following: A. "[America is] the planet's sole remaining superpower." "The U.N. Obsession," Time, May 9, 1994, p. 86. B. "There is no prospect in the immediate future of any power to rival the United States." Charles Krauthammer, "The Lonely Superpower", The New Republic, July 29, 1992, p. 23. C. Yassir Arafat labeled America "the new Rome" because, as old Rome was the undisputed superpower of its age, America is now number one. Newsweek, August 12, 1991, p. 33. D. "America's power will now determine all major global events." Jim Hoagland, "Of Heroes ...", The Washington Post, August 21, 1991, p. A-23. All world nations now look to the United States for protection and support. America is the world's number one military power. When a Marxist group overthrew the government of Ethiopia, America was asked to negotiate. When Boris Yeltsin took office as president of the newly independent Russia, he visited America first. Former U.S.S.R. President Mikhail Gorbachev turned to America in his crisis. When Kuwait was invaded, its government called on America. The U.S.-led war against Iraq rallied the support of almost the entire world. A National Public Radio correspondent called the American president the "president of the world." We now have "a highly unusual world structure with a single power, the United States, at the apex of the international system." Krauthammer, The New Republic, p. 23. 12. It is clear that the influence and power of both the United States and the papacy are escalating with rapidity. What other factors could possibly help set the stage for a worldwide law to execute those who refuse to violate conscience? Answer: We cannot name them with certainty, but a few looming possibilities are as follows: A. The activity of terrorists. B. Riots and escalating crime and evil. C. Drug wars. D. A major economic crash. E. AIDS and other epidemics. F. Nuclear threats from radical nations. G. Political corruption. H. Gross miscarriage of justice by the courts. I. Welfare abuse. J. Increasing taxes. K. Pornography and sickening immorality. L. Appalling global disasters. M. Radical "special interest" groups. N. The abortion crisis. A backlash against corruption, lawlessness, immorality, permissiveness, injustice, poverty, weak and ineffective political leaders, and many similar woes could easily precipitate a demand for strong, specific laws to be rigidly enforced. 13. As world conditions worsen, what will Satan do to deceive the masses? "And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live." Revelation 13:13, 14. Answer: America will experience a counterfeit, worldwide revival and will insist that religious laws be passed to force every person to participate. (This is represented by "an image to the beast" in Revelation 13:14.) People will be forced to disregard God's holy, seventh-day Sabbath and worship instead on the beast's "holy" day--Sunday. Some will also comply simply for social or economic reasons. World conditions will become so intolerable that a worldwide "back to God and prayer" movement, with all joining in worship and prayer on Sunday, will seem to be the only solution. Satan will deceive the world into believing that they must compromise Bible truth and keep Sunday holy. But in reality, obedience to and worship of the beast will shut people out of God's kingdom. No wonder Jesus makes such an issue in Revelation over worshiping the beast and receiving his mark! 14. While interest in the counterfeit revival heightens, what will be happening to the genuine worldwide revival sponsored by God's end-time people? Answer: The Bible says the entire world will be "lightened" with its glory (Revelation 18:1). Every person on earth will be reached (Mark 16:15) with God's end-time, three-point message of Revelation 14:6-14. God's end-time message of hope will reach every person. God's last-day church will grow with amazing speed as millions join God's people and accept His offer of salvation by free grace and faith in Jesus, which transforms them into His obedient servants. Many people and leaders from all countries of the world will refuse to worship the beast and embrace his false teachings. Instead, they will worship and obey Jesus only. They will then receive His holy Sabbath sign, or mark, in their foreheads (Revelation 7:2, 3), thus sealing them for eternity. Spiraling Growth Infuriates Counterfeit Movement This spiraling growth among God's people will infuriate the counterfeit movement. Its leaders will become fully convinced that those who refuse to cooperate with the worldwide counterfeit revival are the cause of all the world's woes (Daniel 11:44). They will disqualify them from buying and selling (Revelation 13:16, 17), but God will feed His people (Isaiah 33:16) and protect them (Psalms 34:7). 15. In desperation, the U.S.-led coalition will next decide to impose the death sentence on its enemies (Revelation 13:15). What does Revelation 13:13, 14 say its leaders will do to convince people that God is with them? Answer: They will work miracles--so convincing that everyone except God's faithful end-time people will be persuaded (Matthew 24:24). Utilizing the spirits (or fallen angels) of Satan (Revelation 16:13, 14), they will impersonate dead loved ones of the people through sorcery (Revelation 18:23) and probably even pose as Bible prophets and apostles. These lying (John 8:44), demonic spirits will doubtless claim that God has sent them to urge all to cooperate. Satan Appears as Christ; His Angels Pose as Christian Ministers Satan's angels will also appear as godly clergymen, and Satan will appear as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). As his crowning miracle, Satan will claim to be Jesus (Matthew 24:23, 24). Satan will impersonate Jesus. Satan, while impersonating Christ, could easily claim that he changed Sabbath to Sunday and urge his followers to proceed with their worldwide revival and uphold his "holy" day--Sunday. Billions Are Deceived Billions, believing that Satan is Jesus, will bow at his feet and join the counterfeit movement. "The whole world went after the beast in wondering admiration." Revelation 13:3, NEB.* The deception will be overwhelmingly effective. But God's end-time people will not be deceived, because they test everything by the Bible (Isaiah 8:19, 20; 2 Timothy 2:15). The Bible says God's law cannot be changed (Matthew 5:18). It also says that when Jesus returns, every eye will see Him (Revelation 1:7) and He will not touch the earth but will remain in the cloud and call His people to meet Him in the air (1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17). 16. How can we be safe from powerful end-time deceptions? Answer: A. Test every teaching by the Bible (2 Timothy 2:15; Acts 17:11; Isaiah 8:19, 20). B. Follow truth as Jesus reveals it. Jesus promises that those who do His will never end up in error (John 7:17). C. Stay close to Jesus daily (John 15:5). Reminder: This is the sixth Study Guide in our series of nine on the three angels' messages. The next Study Guide will reveal how Christian churches and other religions worldwide will relate to the events of the end time. Thought Questions 1. It doesn't seem fair that, in the final crisis, people who have never heard God's truth will innocently choose a counterfeit and thus be lost. Mark 16:15 No one will face the final crisis without first having heard (Mark 16:15) and understood (John 1:9) God's vital three-point message for today (Revelation 14:6). People will choose to receive the mark of the beast at that time only because they do not wish to pay the price for following Christ. 2. What is the battle of Armageddon spoken of in Revelation 16:12-16? When and where will it be fought? Revelation 16:16 The battle of Armageddon is the final battle between Christ and Satan. It will be fought on the earth and will begin just before the end of time. The battle will be interrupted by Jesus' second coming. It will begin again after the 1,000 years, when the wicked surround the holy city with hopes of capturing it. The battle will close when God rains fire down from heaven upon the wicked and destroys them (Revelation 20:9). (Study Guide 12 explains the 1,000 years in detail.) What Does the Word "Armageddon" Mean? Armageddon is a symbolic name for the "battle of that great day of God Almighty" between Christ and Satan in which all the nations of the world will be involved (Revelation 16:12-16, 19). The "kings of the east" are God the Father and God the Son. "East" in the Bible symbolizes God's heavenly kingdom (Revelation 7:2; Ezekiel 43:2; Matthew 24:27). In this final battle, virtually the entire world will unite (Revelation 16:14) to fight against Jesus, the Lamb, and His people (Revelation 17:14; 19:19). Their aim will be to wipe out all who refuse to worship the beast and accept his mark (Revelation 13:15-17). Delusion Follows Rejection People who refuse to accept God's three-point message for the last days (even though they know it is true), will become strongly deluded so they will believe a lie (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12). They will begin to sincerely believe they are upholding God's great kingdom when they endeavor to destroy God's people. They will perceive the saints to be hopelessly deceived fanatics who are dooming the entire world by their refusal to cooperate in the counterfeit revival. Jesus' Second Coming Halts Battle The battle itself will be worldwide. Governments will simultaneously try to destroy God's people, but God will intervene. The symbolic river Euphrates will be dried up (Revelation 16:12). Water represents people (Revelation 17:15). The drying up of the river Euphrates means that the people who have been supporting the beast (Satan's kingdom) will suddenly withdraw their support. The beast's support will thus dry up. Its coalition of allies (Revelation 16:13, 14) will fall apart (Revelation 16:19). Jesus' second coming will halt this battle and save His people (Revelation 6:14-17; 16:18-21; 19:11-20). Battle Resumes After 1,000 Years After the 1,000 years, Satan will come right out in the open as the leader of the forces against God and His people. He will resume the battle against God as he tries to capture the holy city. Then Satan and his followers will be destroyed by fire from heaven (see Study Guides 11 and 12). Every follower of Satan will be destroyed. Every follower of Jesus will enter His eternal kingdom. 3. The Bible says, "The time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service." John 16:2. Do you think that will be literally fulfilled in our time? John 16:2 Yes. The end-time coalition of world governments and religions will finally lose all sympathy for God's people, who refuse to join the counterfeit revival or adopt its symbol (Sunday worship). They will feel that the wonderful miracles accompanying their revival prove its validity--miracles such as the sick being healed or notorious God-haters, immoral movie stars, drug lords, and well-known criminals being converted. The coalition will insist that no one be permitted to wreck this worldwide revival which is drawing all religions. Everyone will be urged to lay aside personal feelings and "fanatical teachings" (the Sabbath, for example) and join with the rest of the world in its sincere revival for peace and brotherhood. Everything other than the revival will be considered minor. Those who do not agree to cooperate will be considered disloyal, unpatriotic, anarchists and, finally, dangerous fanatics who must not be tolerated. In that day, those who kill God's people will feel they are doing God a favor. 4. As I study the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation, it seems apparent that the real enemy is always the devil. Do you agree? Revelation 12:17 Absolutely! You are 100 percent correct! Satan is always the real enemy. Satan works through earth's leaders and nations to hurt God's people and thus bring heartache to Jesus and the Father. We so easily forget that Satan is the enemy. He is the one responsible for all evil. Let's blame him and be careful how we judge and condemn people or organizations who hurt God's people and church. They are sometimes uninformed or even totally unaware that they are harming anyone. But that is never true of Satan. He is always fully aware. He hurts God and His people intentionally. 5. How would the death of the pope or the election of a new president affect the prophecy of America in Revelation 13:11-18? Revelation 13:18 The prophecy will be fulfilled no matter who is pope or president. A new president or a new pope may temporarily speed up or slow down fulfillment, but the final outcome is assured by Bible prophecy. 6. Are the lamb-horned beast of Revelation 13:11-18 and the "false prophet" of Revelation 16:13 the same power? Revelation 13:11 Yes. In Revelation 19:20, where God mentions the destruction of the Antichrist beast, He also refers to the destruction of the false prophet. In this passage, God identifies the false prophet as the power which "wrought miracles" before the beast and "deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshiped his image." This is a very clear reference to the activities of the lamb-horned beast, which are described in Revelation 13:11-18. In this Study Guide we have identified the lamb-horned beast as the United States of America. So the lamb-horned beast and the false prophet are obviously the same power.

AMAZING FACTS BIBLE STUDY. A/F # 21 Hello friends, family, and my brothers, and sisters in Christ. This is Brother Johnny Gass. Welcome to Bible study. Study to show thyself to approved unto God, a Workman unashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 Please share these lessons with everyone you know for the expansion of the kingdom of God. Amazing Facts # 21 The USA in Bible Prophecy. Amazing Facts # 15

Who is the Antichrist? Who, or what, is the Antichrist? Evil alliance, or sinister individual? Some say his appearance is still in the future. Others say he appeared long ago in the days of ancient Rome. But the Bible indicates that he is alive today! The Bible prophecies teach this antichrist power will play a crucial role in the final events of earth's history. Do you know who he is? Are you sure? You need to be, for you can't understand last-day events until you understand this evil power. Be prepared for one of the most intriguing Study Guides yet! This Study Guide, based on Daniel chapter 7, clearly and unmistakably identifies the Antichrist. But it is only an introduction. Future lessons will reveal details of some of his activities that will have worldwide impact. What you discover today may displease or sadden you, but please remember that the prophecy of Daniel chapter 7 comes from Jesus, who loves you. Pray for God's guidance as you delve into this urgent subject. Be sure to read Daniel 7 before studying this guide. 1. As the chapter begins, Daniel sees four beasts coming up out of the sea. In prophecy, what does a beast represent? What does the sea represent? "The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon the earth." In prophecy, God uses beasts to symbolize nations. Daniel 7:23. "The waters ... are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues." Revelation 17:15. Answer: Beasts represent kingdoms or nations. Water represents multitudes of people or large populations. 2. The four beasts of Daniel 7 represent the four world kingdoms (verses 17, 18). Babylon, the first kingdom (Daniel 2:38, 39), is represented as a lion in Daniel 7:4. (See also Jeremiah 4:7; 50:17, 43, 44 for Babylon pictured as a lion elsewhere.) What do the "eagle's wings" mean? What do the "four winds" of verse 2 represent? "The Lord shall bring a nation against thee ... as swift as the eagle flieth." Deuteronomy 28:49. "Thus saith the Lord of hosts, ... a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth." Jeremiah 25:32, 33. The lion beast of Daniel 7 represents the empire of Babylon. Answer: The wings of eagles represent speed. (See also Jeremiah 4:13; Habakkuk 1:6-9.) Winds represent strife, commotion, and destruction. (See also Revelation 7:1-3.) 3. What kingdom does the bear represent (Daniel 7:5)? What do the three ribs in its mouth symbolize? Answer: Read Daniel 8. Notice that the beasts in chapter 8 parallel those in chapter 7. Daniel 8:20 specifically names Medo-Persia as the kingdom that precedes the rough goat, or Greece, of verse 21. It is the second world kingdom--the same power as the bear of Daniel 7. The empire was made up of two groups of people. The Medes came up first (represented in Daniel 7:5 by the bear coming up on one side), but the Persians eventually became stronger (represented in Daniel 8:3 by the ram's second horn which grew "higher," or taller). The three ribs represent the three principal powers conquered by Medo-Persia: Lydia, Babylon, and Egypt. The bear with three ribs in its mouth symbolizes Medo-Persia. 4. Greece, the third kingdom (Daniel 8:21), is represented by a leopard with four wings and four heads (Daniel 7:6). What do the heads represent? What do the four wings represent? Answer: The four heads represent the four kingdoms into which the empire of Alexander the Great was divided when he died. The four generals who headed these areas were: Cassander, Lysimachus, Ptolemy, and Seleucus. The four wings (instead of two like the lion) represent super-speed, which was true of Alexander's conquests (Jeremiah 4:11-13). The leopard beast of Daniel 7 represents the world kingdom of Greece. 5. The Roman empire, the fourth world kingdom, is represented by a horrible monster with iron teeth and 10 horns (Daniel 7:7). What do the horns represent? Answer: The 10 horns represent the 10 kings or kingdoms into which pagan Rome was eventually split (Daniel 7:24). (These 10 kingdoms are the same as the 10 toes of the image described in Daniel 2:41-44.) Roving barbarian tribes swept in upon the Roman empire and carved out land niches for their people. Seven of those 10 tribes developed into the countries of modern Western Europe, while three were uprooted and destroyed. The next section will discuss those kingdoms that were rooted up. The world empire of Rome is symbolized by the monster beast of Daniel chapter Visigoths--Spain Anglo-Saxons--England Franks--France Alemani--Germany Burgundians--Switzerland Lombards--Italy Suevi--Portugal Heruli--Rooted up Ostrogoths--Rooted up Vandals--Rooted up 6. In the Daniel 7 prophecy, what happens next? "I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things." Daniel 7:8. The little horn of Daniel 7:8 represents Antichrist. Answer: The "little horn" power appears next. We must identify it carefully because God takes more space describing it than the other four kingdoms combined. Why? Because the biblical characteristics identify it as the Antichrist of prophecy and history. There must be no mistake in making this identification. 7. Are there clear points of identification? Answer: Yes, God gives us nine characteristics of Antichrist in Daniel 7 so we can be certain of his identity. And even though some may find these truths from God's Word painful, we must be honest enough to accept them as His revealed will. Now let's discover what Jesus' nine points are: A. The "little horn" or kingdom "came up among them"--the 10 horns which were the kingdoms of Western Europe (Daniel 7:8). So it would be a little kingdom somewhere in Western Europe. B. It would have a man at its head who could speak for it (Daniel 7:8). C. It would pluck up or uproot three kingdoms (Daniel 7:8). D. It would be "diverse" or different from the other 10 kingdoms (Daniel 7:24). E. It would make war with and "wear out" or persecute the saints (Daniel 7:21, 25). The Bible says Antichrist would persecute God's people. F. It would emerge from the pagan Roman empire--the fourth world kingdom (Daniel 7:7, 8). G. God's people (the saints) would "be given into his hand" for "a time and times and the dividing of time" (Daniel 7:25). H. It would "speak great words against" or blaspheme God (Daniel 7:25). In Revelation 13:5, the Bible says the same power speaks "great things and blasphemies." I. It would "think to change times and laws." Daniel 7:25. Don't forget--all these identification points come directly from the Bible. They are not some human opinion or speculation. Historians could tell you quickly what power is being described. These points can fit only one power--the papacy. But in order to be certain, let us carefully examine all nine points, one by one. There must be no room left for doubt. 8. Does the papacy fit these points? Answer: Yes, it fits every point perfectly. See items A through H below. A. It "came up among" the 10 kingdoms of Western Europe. The geographical location of the papal power was in Rome, Italy--the very heart of the territory of Western Europe. The papacy clearly fits all nine identification points. B. It would have a man at its head who speaks for it. The papacy meets this identifying mark because it does have one man at the head (the pope) who speaks for it. C. It would pluck up or uproot three kingdoms. The emperors of Western Europe were largely Catholic and supported the papacy in its growth and authority. Three Arian kingdoms, however, did not support the papacy--the Vandals, Heruli, and Ostrogoths. So the Catholic emperors decided they must be subdued or destroyed. Here is how Dr. Mervyn Maxwell, a theologian and historian, described the results in volume 1, page 129, of his book God Cares: "The Catholic emperor Zeno (474-491) arranged a treaty with the Ostrogoths in 487 which resulted in the eradication of the kingdom of the Arian Heruls in 493. And the Catholic emperor Justinian (527-565) exterminated the Arian Vandals in 534 and significantly broke the power of the Arian Ostrogoths in 538. Thus were Daniel's three horns --the Heruls, the Vandals, and the Ostrogoths--'plucked up by the roots.' "It is not difficult to recognize that the papacy fits this point. D. It would be "diverse" or different from the other kingdoms. The papacy clearly fits this description, also. It came on the scene as a religious power and was totally different from the secular nature of the other 10 kingdoms. E. It would make war with and persecute the saints. That the church did persecute is a well-known fact. The papacy clearly admits doing so. Much supportive evidence exists. Even conservative historians claim the church probably destroyed at least 50 million people over matters of religious conviction. We will quote here from two sources: 1. "That the Church of Rome has shed more innocent blood than any other institution that has ever existed among mankind, will be questioned by no Protestant who has a competent knowledge of history. 1 2. In The History of the Inquisition of Spain, D. Ivan Antonio Llorente provides these figures from the Spanish Inquisition alone: 31,912 persons were condemned and perished in the flames. 241,450 persons were condemned to severe penalties. F. It would emerge from the fourth kingdom of iron--the pagan Roman Empire. We are quoting two authorities on this point: 1. "The mighty Catholic Church was little more than the Roman Empire baptised ... The very capital of the old Roman Empire became the capital of the Christian empire. The office of Pontifex Maximus was continued in that of the pope." 2 2. "Whatever Roman elements the barbarians and Arians left ... [came] under the protection of the Bishop of Rome, who was the chief person there after the emperor's disappearance. The Roman Church in this way privily pushed itself into the place of the Roman World-Empire, of which it is the actual continuation." 3 So, once again, the point fits the papacy. G. God's people (the saints) would "be given into his hand" for "a time and times and the dividing of time." Daniel 7:25. Several things need clarification in connection with this point: 1. A time is a year, times is two years, and the dividing of time is a half-year. The Amplified Bible translates it: "Three and one-half years." 4 2. This same time period is mentioned seven times (Daniel 7:25; 12:7; Revelation 11:2, 3; 12:6, 14; 13:5) in the books of Daniel and Revelation: three times as a time, times, and half a time; twice as 42 months; and twice as 1,260 days. Based on the 30-day calendar used by the Jews, these time periods are all the same amount of time: 3 1/2 years = 42 months = 1,260 days. 3. One prophetic day equals one literal year (Ezekiel 4:6; Numbers 14:34). 4. Thus, the little horn (Antichrist) was to have power over the saints for 1,260 prophetic days or 1,260 literal years. 5. The rule of the papacy began in A.D. 538, when the last of the three opposing Arian kingdoms was uprooted. Its rule continued until 1798 when Napoleon's general, Berthier, took the pope captive with hopes of destroying both Pope Pius VI and the political, secular power of the papacy. This period of time is an exact fulfillment of the 1,260-year prophecy. The blow was a deadly wound for the papacy, but that wound began to heal and continues healing today. 6. This same period of persecution is mentioned in Matthew 24:21 as the worst period of persecution God's people will ever experience. Verse 22 tells us it was so devastating that not one soul would have survived if God had not shortened it. But God did shorten it. The persecution ended long before the pope was taken captive in 1798. It is plain to see that this point, likewise, fits the papacy. H. It would speak "great words" of blasphemy "against the most High Bwambale Gilbert ." Blasphemy has two definitions in Scripture: 1. Claiming to forgive sins (Luke 5:21). 2. Claiming to be God (John 10:33). Does this point fit the papacy? Yes! Let's first look at the evidence for it claiming to forgive sins: "Does the Priest truly forgive the sins, or does he only declare that they are remitted? The Priest does really and truly forgive the sins in virtue of the power given to him by Christ." 5 The papacy further undermines Jesus by setting up a system of confession to an earthly priest, thus bypassing Jesus, our High Priest (Hebrews 3:1; 8:1, 2) and only Mediator (1 Timothy 2:5). Next consider the evidence for it claiming to be God: "We [the popes] hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty." 6 Here is another: "The pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, but he is Jesus Christ, Himself, hidden under the veil of flesh." 7 It’s obvious this point, likewise, fits the papacy. I. It would "think to change times and laws." In a future Study Guide we will deal with the "times" of this point. It is a major topic and needs separate consideration. But what about changing the "laws"? The Amplified Bible translates "laws" as "the law." The reference is to changing God's law. Of course, no one can really change it, but has the papacy attempted to do so? The answer is "yes." The Bible says Antichrist would attempt to change God's law. In its catechisms, the papacy has omitted the second commandment against veneration of images and has shortened the fourth commandment from 94 words to eight and divided the tenth commandment into two commandments. (Check this for yourself. Compare the Ten Commandments in any Catholic catechism with God's list of the commandments in Exodus 20:3-17.) There is no doubt that the little horn power of Daniel chapter 7 (the Antichrist) is the papacy. No other organization could possibly fit these nine points. And incidentally, this is no new teaching. Every Reformer, without exception, spoke of the papacy as Antichrist. 8 Words of Care and Concern Lest some should think that we are attacking fellow Christians by identifying this little-horn power, please keep in mind that the prophecy is aimed at a system and not individuals. There are sincere, devout Christians in all churches, including the Catholic faith. Daniel chapter 7 is simply a message of judgment and correction upon a large religious institution which compromised with paganism, like so many other churches that arose after her. Prophecy Reveals Faults of All Faiths Other prophecies point out the faults of Protestant and Jewish faiths. God has true people in all religions. His true people (no matter what their faith) will always humbly accept the correction of the Lord and will not shut their ears and hearts against Him by self-defensiveness. We should be very thankful that God's Word speaks with impartial honesty on every subject. REFERENCES 1 W. E. H. Allen Anderson, Unfolding the Revelation, p. 137. 9. Wasn't Daniel told to seal up his book until "the time of the end"? (Daniel 12:4) When will Daniel's prophecies be opened to our understanding? Answer: In Daniel 12:4, the prophet was told to seal parts of the book till "the time of the end." In verse 6 an angelic voice asked, "How long shall it be to the end of these wonders?" Verse 7 says, "It shall be for a time, times, and an half." The angel assured Daniel that the section of the book dealing with end-time prophecies would be opened after the end of the 1260-year period of papal control which was, as we learned earlier in this Study Guide, 1798. So the time of the end began in the year 1798. Obviously, the book of Daniel contains crucial messages from heaven for us today. We absolutely must understand it. The angel told Daniel that the prophecies of this book would be sealed until 1798, the time of the end. 10. Many Christians today have been tragically misinformed regarding the Antichrist. To believe an untruth about the Antichrist could easily cause a person to be deceived and lost. What should a person do when new Bible teachings are encountered? "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so." Acts 17:11. All religious teachings must be compared with Scripture to determine their accuracy. Answer: When a new Bible teaching is encountered, the only safe procedure is to compare it carefully with Scripture to see if it is in harmony with God's Word. 11. I am willing to follow where Jesus leads, even though it may be painful? Many momentous prophecies from the Bible books of Daniel and Revelation will be featured in upcoming Amazing Facts Study Guides. God has given these prophecies to: A. Reveal earth's closing events. B. Identify the participants in the final phase of the battle between Jesus and Satan. C. Clearly reveal Satan's sinister plans to ensnare and destroy us all. D. Present the security and love of the judgment; God's saints will be vindicated! E. Uplift Jesus--His salvation, love, power, mercy, and justice. Major Participants Will Appear Repeatedly Key participants in the closing war between Jesus and Satan will appear repeatedly in these prophecies. These include: Satan, Jesus, the United States, the papacy, Protestantism, and spiritism. Jesus repeats and expands His messages from the prophets to make certain His warnings of love and protection come through with clarity and certainty. Thought Questions 1. I always thought Antichrist was a person rather than an organization. Am I wrong? Daniel 7:8 Antichrist is an organization--the papacy. The words "eyes of man" in Daniel 7:8, however, do point to a leader. Revelation 13:18 speaks of man with a number being involved. In Daniel chapter 8, Greece is represented by a goat and its leader, Alexander the Great, is symbolized by a horn. The same is true of Antichrist. The organization is the papacy. The pope in office is its representative. The prophecy of Daniel chapter 7 is not saying that popes are evil and that Catholics are not Christians. There are many warm, loving Catholic Christians. The system, however, is called Antichrist because it has usurped Jesus' authority and attempted to change His law. 2. Do you think it is wise or Christian to pass laws to enforce Christianity? Joshua 24:15 No. The Bible is clear that all should have freedom to choose the direction they wish to go in matters of conscience (Joshua 24:15)--even if they choose to deny God and be atheists. God permitted Adam and Eve to choose to disobey even though it hurt both them and Him. Forced worship is not acceptable to God. Forced worship is the devil's way. God's way is loving persuasion. History shows that virtually every time the church passed laws to enforce its beliefs, persecution and murder of others resulted. This is a lesson we can learn from the Middle Ages history of the little horn. 3. Perhaps I have misunderstood, but my concept has always been that Antichrist would be an evil being who openly opposed God. Is this concept incorrect? 1 John 4:3 We usually consider the word "anti" to mean "against". But in "Antichrist" it means "in the place of" or "instead of". Antichrist is guilty of assuming the prerogatives of God. It claims: A. Its priests can forgive sins which only God can do (Luke 5:21). B. To have changed God's law by dropping out the second commandment (on worshiping images) and splitting the tenth into two parts. God's law cannot be changed (Matthew 5:18). C. That the pope is God on earth. Satan's Original Plan Satan's original plan (in heaven) was to assume God's position and authority. His aim was to oust God and rule in His place. (See Study Guide 2.) When Satan was ejected from heaven, his aim did not change, but rather intensified. Through the centuries he has endeavored (using various human agencies) to discredit God and take over His position. Antichrist Appears to Be Spiritual Satan aims to replace God in these last days by deceiving people into following Antichrist, who appears spiritual and holy. The main purpose of the prophecies of Daniel and Revelation is to expose Satan's traps and strategies and lead people to anchor in Jesus and His Word for safety. Antichrist Will Deceive Many Most people will follow the Antichrist (Revelation 13:3), thinking they are following Christ. Only the very elect will be safe (Matthew 24:23, 24). They will be safe because they test every spiritual teaching and leader by Scripture (Isaiah 8:20). Religious deception is everywhere today. We cannot be too careful. 4. Doesn't the Bible say in 1 John 2:18-22 that there are many antichrists? 1 John 2:18 Yes, there have been many antichrists down through history who have worked against the kingdom of God. However, there is only one entity that specifically fulfills all the prophesied characteristics of the Antichrist. In Daniel chapters 7 and 8 and in Revelation chapter 13, you will find at least 10 identifying traits of the Antichrist. These 10 identifying marks can be fulfilled in only one entity, the papacy. 5. In prophecy, does the symbol "beast" mean "beastly" characteristics? Revelation 13:1 Not at all. God uses the symbolism of a beast to signify a ruler, nation, government, or kingdom. It is His way of depicting governments in prophecy. We do this ourselves to some degree: We have depicted Russia as a bear, the United States as an eagle, etc. The symbol "beast" is not a demeaning, disrespectful term. It is synonymous with "animal" or "creature". Even Christ is portrayed as a Lamb by John the Baptist (John 1:29) and the apostle John (Revelation 5:6, 9, 12, 13). The term "beast" is utilized by God to give us a message about nations and leaders, good and evil.

AMAZING FACTS BIBLE STUDY. A/F # 15 Hello friends, family, and my brothers, and sisters in Christ. This is Brother Johnny Gass. Welcome to Bible study. Study to show thyself to approved unto God, a Workman unashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 Please share these lessons with everyone you know for the expansion of the kingdom of God. Amazing Facts # 15 Who is the Antichrist? God's people (the saints) would "be given into his hand" for "a time and times and the dividing of time." Daniel 7:25. Several things need clarification in connection with this point: 1. THE CRISIS IN THE MIDDLE EAST, 2026

The current war in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel, and Iran is often viewed through the narrow lens of geopolitics, oil security and historical ethnic rivalries. However, when we strip away the evening news headlines and apply the blueprint of biblical prophecy, a more profound and calculated agenda emerges.

This is not merely a regional skirmish; it is a carefully orchestrated stage-setting for a final global crisis. History reveals a recurring cycle: A centralized religious-political system seeking universal dominance. It does so by controlling the three pillars of society: faith, force, and finance.

In the Middle Ages, the papal system established a "union of church and state," using the military might of Western nations (the Crusades) to secure its interests in the East. Today, the Bible warns in Revelation 13, that this same papal system, which received a "deadly wound" in the late 18th century, is quietly regaining its seat at the head of the global table.

Today, we see the United States acting as the primary military arm in the Middle East conflict. While the political reasons for this are widely propagated, the truth is, the "hidden hand" uses these conflicts to create a state of permanent instability. As the U.S. and Israel engage in warfare with Iran, the world grows deeply weary of the endless "spiral of violence."

This exhaustion is intentional. Chronic crisis demands a global solution, opening the door for a "Moral Authority" to step in. As American and Israeli munitions dismantle Iran's infrastructure from the outside, a far more subtle campaign is unfolding from within, one that relies on persuasion rather than precision strikes.

To understand what is happening in Tehran today, we must look at Poland in the 1980s. The Iron Curtain fell not just because of NATO's tanks, but because the Vatican, under John Paul II, partnered with Washington to delegitimize the Communist government from within. Today, we are witnessing this again, the so-called "Holy Alliance" strategy, now being applied to the Iranian theocracy.

While the U.S. and Israel apply maximum pressure (the "Bad Cop"), the Vatican has positioned itself as the ultimate mediator (the "Good Cop"). Recent diplomatic moves prove this. In late 2024, the Vatican elevated the Archbishop of Tehran-Isfahan to the College of Cardinals and hosted the 12th Colloquium of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue with Iranian representatives.

More strikingly, on March 1, 2026, amid the escalating U.S./Israeli strikes, Pope Leo XIV explicitly stepped into the moral vacuum. Addressing the world from St. Peter's Square, he condemned the "spiral of violence" and declared that "stability and peace are not built with mutual threats, nor with weapons... but only through a reasonable, authentic, and responsible dialogue." By doing so, the Papacy captures the moral high ground, preparing to act as the "Healing Mother" that guides a fractured nation back to the global community.

A profound documented example of this cultural softening occurred recently in Tehran itself. On November 29, 2025, Tehran officially inaugurated the Maryam-e Moghaddas (Saint Mary) metro station on Line 6.

Located near St. Sarkis Cathedral, the station is adorned with massive relief sculptures of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary. Tehran’s Mayor, Alireza Zakani, publicly hailed it as a symbol of "the coexistence of divine religions." Such an open invocation of Mary, a central figure revered in both Catholicism and Islam (Surah Maryam), presents a massive cultural opening. By deploying shared symbols in a $100+ million public space, Rome's global religious diplomacy gently reshapes the ideological will of the Islamic Revolution from the inside out.

As Daniel 8:25 warns of this rising power: "Through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many."

The presence of Islam in this geopolitical theater is no accident. Long before nations rose and fell, the prophecy spoken to Hagar in Genesis 16:12 described Ishmael's descendants (Arabs) living a life of fierce independence: "His hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren."

This predicted constant conflict, not mindless violence. Centuries later, Revelation 9 described the rise of the Islamic empires under the symbol of locusts. Historians noted that the Arabian armies explicitly avoided destroying cultivated land, fulfilling the prophecy that they should "not hurt the grass of the earth" (Revelation 9:4).

Islam functions in prophecy as a pressure point. The modern friction with the Islamic world is the necessary "threat" being used today to drive exhausted nations into the arms of a unified, global moral authority.

The ultimate objective behind this engineered chaos is the centralization of world trade and finance. The Middle East remains the world's most critical chokepoint for energy. By maintaining conflict in this region, global powers can justify drastic, centralized economic solutions.

The heavy use of economic sanctions against Iran is a prototype for the warning found in Revelation 13:17: that a time is coming when "no man might buy or sell" unless they align with the dictates of this global system. The current instability accelerates the transition toward Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and digital IDs. Just as the papal system once used excommunication to cut off kings from their wealth during the Dark Ages, this modern system will use digital "excommunication" to enforce global mandates.

    Conclusion
The Middle East is the clock of the world, and the hands are moving toward midnight. We are witnessing the formation of a global order where the political sword (the U.S.) and the religious scepter (the Vatican) work in unison. The takedown of the Iranian government will likely not end with an American flag planted in Tehran, but with a coalition government "spiritually guided" by principles compatible with Rome's global agenda. The "deadly wound" is almost fully healed, and the world is being conditioned to surrender its sovereignty for a "Universal Peace Plan" that will involve false worship.
