**PROPHETIC CONFRONTATION: STOP REBUKING THE HAND THAT IS TRYING TO SAVE YOU**
** WELCOMING THE ROD: WHY A TRUE DISCIPLE STOPS WHINING ABOUT HARDSHIP AND LEARNS TO BEG GOD FOR HIS LOVING, CORRECTIVE DISCIPLINE **
I am writing this with a Spirit of burning fire. The Holy Ghost is sick of the whining in the camp. We have raised a generation of spiritual infants who scream at the sight of a spoon and cry at the sight of a spiritual diaper change.
We interpret every difficulty as "spiritual warfare" and every hardship as a "demonic attack."
**YOU ARE DECEIVED.**
Some of what you are rebuking is not the devil trying to kill you; it is the Father trying to **MATURE** you.
**Hear the Word of the Lord:**
**God loves you too much to let you remain a brat.**
He is not an indulgent grandfather who gives you candy while you rot your teeth. He is a Father. He is a Potter. He is a Vinedresser. And He carries a **ROD.**
If you kick against the goads, if you run from the discipline, if you demand a Christianity without correction—**YOU ARE ASKING TO BE AN ORPHAN.**
### 1. THE EXPOSITORY REALITY: THE THEOLOGY OF ILLEGITIMACY
**Hebrews 12:6-8**: *"For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons."*
**BASTARDS.**
That is the Bible’s word, not mine (KJV).
If you can sin without consequence...
If you can be arrogant without being humbled...
If you can walk in rebellion without God breaking your leg to bring you back...
**BE TERRIFIED.**
It means He doesn't claim you. It means you are illegitimate.
**The Rod is the proof of the Relationship.**
When the hammer falls on your life, do not cry "Why me?" Cry "Thank You!" because it means the Father is investing in your character. He is treating you like an heir, not a hireling.
### 2. THE COMFORT OF THE CRUSHING
**Psalm 23:4**: *"Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."*
How can a rod (a club used for beating predators and correcting sheep) be a comfort?
**Because it creates BOUNDARIES.**
A sheep that is never corrected wanders off a cliff. A sheep that is never disciplined gets eaten by the wolf.
The Rod comforts the mature believer because it signifies: *"God is watching me. He is correcting my course. He will not let me destroy myself."*
**Pain is the mercy of God that wakes you up before you drive off the edge of eternity.**
### 3. THE MOAB SYNDROME: THE DANGER OF EASE
**Jeremiah 48:11**: *"Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remained in him, and his scent is not changed."*
Moab was never disturbed. Moab was never poured out. Moab was never disciplined.
**THE RESULT?** He settled on his dregs. He tasted bitter. He rotted in his own comfort.
**God is pouring you from vessel to vessel right now.**
That job loss? That relational conflict? That season of dryness?
**IT IS THE ROD.**
He is disturbing your sediment. He is ruining your flavor of "self" so that you can take on the flavor of Christ.
Stop cursing the process that is producing the wine!
### 4. THE PROPHETIC REBUKE: KISS THE ROD
**Job 5:17**: *"Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty."*
We have a church that despises correction. We leave churches when the pastor preaches on sin. We unfollow prophets who don't prophesy money.
**We are a soft generation.**
But the fire is coming, and hay and stubble will not survive. Only gold survives, and gold is purified in the furnace.
**I prophesy to you:**
The crushing you are feeling is not unto death; it is unto **WEIGHT.**
God is increasing your spiritual density. He is beating the hell out of you so He can pour the Heaven into you.
**Do not run from the woodshed.**
### THE ALTAR CALL: SUBMIT TO THE SURGERY
I am calling for the mature sons and daughters to step forward. I am calling for those who are done drinking milk and are ready to eat the meat of discipline.
**ARE YOU WILLING TO BE CORRECTED?**
** YOUR ACTION PLAN:**
1. **CHANGE YOUR LANGUAGE:** Stop calling God’s discipline "spiritual warfare." Stop binding the Holy Ghost’s work. Ask God: *"What are You trying to kill in me?"*
2. **INVITE THE SEARCH:** Pray **Psalm 139:23-24**: *"Search me, O God... see if there be any wicked way in me."* Give Him permission to hurt your feelings to save your soul.
3. **SUBMIT TO LEADERSHIP:** If you cannot submit to a visible leader who corrects you, you have not submitted to the invisible God. Find a mentor who has a knife and let them cut the cancer out of your character.
4. **THANK HIM FOR THE PAIN:** *"Lord, thank You for loving me enough to not let me stay the way I was."*
