1 Peter 5:7 GNT
Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.

Good morning and praise God. I hope you are having a great morning. In my ACK Church liturgy, we have this ending of Eucharist instead of the sign of the cross, it is done practically just like the sign of the cross but instead we face the cross which is at most time middle top of the altar and then use our hands to sweep toward the cross as we recite it. Remember that our cross does not have crucifix so the last line which refers to risen Christ we do by lifting our hands towards Heaven. Here are the words we use. "Leader: All our problems. People: We send to the cross of Christ.Leader: All our difficulties. People: We send to the cross of Christ. Leader: All the devil’s works. People: We send to the cross of Christ. Leader: All our hopes. People: We set on the risen Christ." In our today's verse, we are remind to leave all our worries with Jesus because He cares for us. The previous verse talks about humbling ourselves before the LORD and He will lift us up. You may wonder how the two connects. Here is how: there's this indirect form of pride that tell us that we can do it by ourselves. We can handle our problems without being dependent on anyone. This is pride for God did not create us to be self sufficient. Someone sang and said that "no man is an island." We all need someone to help us bear many causes of worries in life. I have not yet met someone who is devoid of worries from time to time. The Bible reminds us that the best person to give all our worries is Jesus Christ because He cares for us. Like that ACK prayer, which by the way some people recite subtly, we can trust that Jesus Christ finished it all at the cross and was raised from the dead and rose to Heaven. Our hope is not dead but living when that hope is in Jesus Christ. Think about all those things causing you to worry and maybe you are ignoring them hence they are eating you inside like cancer. Then do what below verses says Philippians 4:6-7 GNT "Don't worry about anything, but in all your prayers ask God for what you need, always asking him with a thankful heart. And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus." God loves you, have a blessed day and week ahead. Shalom. Shalom.
