2 Kings 6:5-7 NIV As one of them was cutting down a tree, the iron axhead fell into the water. “Oh no, my lord!” he cried out. “It was borrowed!” The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” When he showed him the place, Elisha cut a stick and threw it there, and made the iron float. “Lift it out,” he said. Then the man reached out his hand and took it.
Good morning and praise God. Happy new month! I hope you're having a beautiful Sunday morning. Those who create idols have always represented their gods as complicated and mysterious creatures. In a similar manner, many associate God with doing the big miracles but rarely recognizes God with small miracles. In fact, believers are always ready to call for prayers during big undertakings but will not remember God in small issues of life. Our story of the day tell us that God is interested even in the smallest issues of life. A big miracle can happen when we learn to involve God in smallest issues of life ! A man had borrowed an axe. [I hope we all know axe and its purpose, but basically we from village used it to split firewood. Cooking with gas and electricity was too modern and unavailable]. The axe head decided to separate from the handle and fell into water. It quickly sank since it's made of iron. Those early days, such tools as axe head were as important as borrowing someone's car in today's world. Iron work was an experts business! Thank God the man was with man of God called Elisha who understood that God was not limited to doing miracles in some things but could do it right there and then. Elisha did not quarrel the man for not checking the tightness of the axe head or for not jumping into water to at least try to get the axe head. He also did not do any adacadabras like some 'men of gad', he just asked where it jad fell, picked a stick and threw it there and God reverted laws of nature, the iron axe head floated! Are you trusting God with everything this month or have you reserved God for the big matters only? It will be so difficult for you to experience miracles if you do not see God in smallest matters of life. We must also realize that God is not limited by laws of nature or whatever else we human being are limited by. If you've been good at following Jesus' miracles in the Bible, they sprang from the norms of life and not necessarily those big mysterious things. Think about God being interested in all parts of your life. Worship Him and involve Him in every matter even that which you're able to do. By doing so you'll sprang miracles that you wouldn't ever experience. God loves you, have a blessed day and month ahead. Shalom. Shalom.
