Philippians 2:13-15 NIV for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.” Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky
Good morning and praise God. I hope you're having a great morning. Who are you working for in life? In Colossians 2:23 , the Bible encourages us to work on everything as if working for the LORD and not earthly masters. This is a strong encouragement that we sometimes easily forget and start working as if working for other human beings. I have experienced the frustration of working as if working for the LORD. It happens that sometimes we spend much time to perfect how we work but those placed to supervise us or support the work we are doing fails to do so or do something like what the enemies of Nehemiah did. They jeered him that the walls he was building would be fallen by wolves jumping over it. Today's verses takes another direction. They remind us that it is actually God who work in us in a way that we can fulfill His good purpose (here on earth). The letter continues to tell us that we should do everything without grumbling or arguing. Do you know how easy it is to grumble and argue when working for the Lord? I know we all have done this! Do you remember the last time you complained about the support you're getting in your ministry or at work? Do you remember the last time you felt used by fellow workers? It happens many times and at times it has made workers waste so much time not enjoying the work God has given them but rather working at it with heavy heart. God want you to shine like stars among them that are crooked in the way they work. He want you to be blameless and pure; reflecting His very nature ! It starts from that point of working on everything as if working for God and then knowing that it not about you but God who enables you do that work so that you can shine. When we shine in what we do, we attract others to ourselves and easily display to them God who is always working in us. You're empowered by God in order to reflect Him. The way to accomplish it is by stopping grumbling and arguing and doing simply what God is calling you to do. I hope this encourages you and help you understand why God has placed you there where you're working and in that ministry. Live the purpose. I hope He find you working in His vineyard and loving the work He has placed in your hands. The best call to home will be '"Well done, good and faithful servant!"' God loves you, have a blessed day. Shalom. Shalom.
