One part of the scriptures that often gets me into deep thoughts is Gen.18:17-19.
The confidence that God had in a man was captured In vs 19: "For I know him, that he will command his children... after him and they shall keep the way of the Lord"
As mortal and fallible as man is, the expression of God's confidence in the good that Mortal Abraham was capable of doing, is nothing short of admirable.
Looking deeper into that verse, it revealed God's confidence on how Abraham would handle his children... Children that he hadn't gotten yet, God knew that those children would be safe in Abraham's custody.
It's easy to say Lord I'll do this and that if you bless me... but you see, GOD KNOWS!
HE knows what we are capable of doing, irrespective of the show of emotional commitment we display when we ask of him certain things.
He knows that gifts in a man's hand can unveil his canality, redirect his loyalty and water down commitments.
Before he commits certain things to your hands, He must have tested your capacity to be faithful. He would pass you through the Quality Assurance tests of Heaven before you'll be approved.
If that opportunity, child, expectation etc comes, would you still be faithful?
