  • Is there any way to make my profile less public. I am really tired of coming home from work and having to decline dozens of friend requests that are either not from "real" people or they are from someone who is running a scam. With my current work schedule and volunteer schedule, as well as now taking classes, I don't have a lot of extra time, and what time I do have I don't want to waste on men who want to "connect" with me in this way....one went so far as to ask me to move to Pakistan and be his wife...this was the first time he messaged me....it is really getting old!

  • Everyday I am grateful to God for giving me another day to tell others about Him...today I am most especially grateful for this opportunity. As some of you know I live in the Midwest and last night we had some very violent storms move through here. Not only was my house, my daughters house, and all of our families and our "stuff" spared, but I also had several family and friends check in on me to make sure we were all OK. Below are just a few pictures of some of the storm damage. The post office looks to be completely destroyed, and they had to bring in a mobile trailer to use in the meantime.

  • Church today was very thought provoking. Our key question is:
"To you who is Jesus and is He worthy of your surrender?" The application was this: If He is worthy of your surrender, what are you still holding on to that you need to surrender to Him today? There is a large display in our atrium that says "ALL TO JESUS" the display boards have markers beside them for us to write down what we are surrendering to Jesus.

  • *****UPDATE***
They did not go to church on Sunday. He says they feel abandoned by God, because "He is all we had and we trusted wholeheartedly with the utmost faith and confidence." My son also commented that a few weeks ago the pastor preached about how you should tell people when you are expecting a miracle. That you should not keep silent in case it doesn't happen, after all God doesn't need you to protect his reputation. This has left them very confused by God.
Concerned is a better description than sad. My out of state son is having a crisis of faith. He felt sure that God was going to bless him and his wife with a child through this last IVI procedure, and once again it didn't take. He is now questioning where is God. He said he went to church yesterday because his other 2 girls need the example, but that church was the last place he wanted to be. He asked me how do you explain to someone that you are in love with a child that never existed...As a mom, and a Christian, this conversation broke my heart that I am not able to be there to comfort him and reassure him that God is still in control. It also brought up the memories of my own miscarriage exactly 27 years ago.

  • Today, here in Missouri, with our snowy weather and plummeting temperatures, I am grateful for a warm house, running water, pets for company, internet for entertainment and study abilities, crafts to help productively occupy my time indoors, and plenty of food...and even non-essential food stuffs like pudding cups and soda. I hope and pray all of you are staying safe and warm while winter makes its final stand.

  • My ex and I signed our divorce papers today. It's been a long 2 years that we have been apart, so, it's not like this was unexpected....but even when things end well, or for a good reason, the end is still a sad event.

  • In an attempt to try to make new friends and get to know one another better I am going to try to ask a new question every few days. Please respond...

What types of pets do you have?

I have a brindle colored dog, part beagle part lab, (Dionna, 12) a black cat (Creesy, 11) and a gray cat (Eevee, 10).

  • ***UPDATE***I still need prayers. We were supposed to go yesterday to sign the final papers, but he had not signed them at his lawyer's office yet. He decided it could wait until late in the afternoon so he could stop on his way to work. When he finally went to sign, he found out they need to be notarized, and his lawyer doesn't have one available...none anywhere in the building that she knows about. So, I suggested we meet at my lawyer's office, but he thinks that is too far away and doesn't want to waste the gas...it's about 30 miles. He assures me he will take care of this all this weekend so I can sign on Monday. He also seems to think that we don't need to both sign the same paper, however. So, at this point I don't know if he truly is that dumb, stingy, or is he just stalling. Because my car is one of things that was being disputed, and my car currently needs major repair, every time he stalls like this without telling me ahead of time I have to get up early so I can take my son to work so I can use his car, then go back that night and pick my son back up from work...this is a waste of my time and his gas. I have been dealing with this for over 2 years, and it is really getting old.
I need prayers please...my divorce is supposed to be final on Wednesday the 30th...my lawyer just called and the soon to be ex and his lawyer are requesting that I file a "ton" of paperwork by Monday. So, my computer time this afternoon will be spent downloading bank statements and payment receipts for the past 2 years.

  • Shocked is good, overwhelmed is better. The Olympics haven't even started yet, and the response to the IMB's campaign is staggering. There are 27 from my group in conversations, most, if not all of us are holding multiple conversations. I am myself currently have 6 going. And there are at least 56 more people wanting answers about God, salvation, etc..

  • Thank you to everyone who has been praying. The first of 3 court dates is over. I did not have to give my statement at this time...don't know about later yet. The judge issued a temporary order of spousal support. We go back on September 24 for the judge to decide about my car and again on October 30 for the final divorce decree and final decision on the support request.

  • I have been given an opportunity to go on a virtual mission trip to the Olympics that are being held in Paris, France July 26 - August 11. I am currently doing the online training and one of the requirements is that I recruit 2 people to pray for me before and during my "trip". My trip dates are August 9-23. During those 2 weeks I am to be logged into my computer in the chat room on their website at least 10-15 hours each week to chat with anyone who has a question about God, salvation, etc... My hope is that since it appears all of you on here are Christians rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ that I can get at least 2 of you to commit to pray for me as I prepare for this ministry opportunity and especially during the 2 weeks that I will actively be participating. Thank you in advance for all of your support and encouragement.

  • It's Thursday night and today I had a nice long talk with my son that lives about 12 hours away in Texas. Although, as I said, the talk was nice, it confirmed for me that God is preparing me for another major change in my life (I'm still recovering from the last major change less than 18 months ago). That change, was a separation from my husband of 15 yrs...we are now getting a divorce, which is not yet final. This next major change may be a move to a new state. The past few days I have been thinking that it would be nice to live closer to my son, Shawn and his wife and kids. But currently I live with my youngest son, Cordell, and close to my only daughter, Charlotte and her 3 kids. So to move to another state, to me would almost feel like I was abandoning all of them. Plus Shawn has not indicated that they wanted me to move closer to them...today he asked me (out of the blue) if I would ever consider moving from Missouri to Texas. Also, Cordell frequently reminds me that he and I are not going to live together forever, as he eventually wants to live on his own....Sorry for the long back story...
My prayer tonight is that God will work out all of the details the way He wants. Whether that would be moving to Texas or staying in Missouri, either way, there are a lot of details to be worked out...how will I pay my bills, my sometimes not so great health, transportation issues, pets., etc... Thank you in advance for praying with me.

  • Today's devotion was over hospitality. So, today I am thanking God for transforming my home from one of chaos and hostility into one of peace and tranquility. I am also asking Him to tranaform it once again into one that is welcoming and hospitable to all people.
