ONJ United Fellowship – Cross-Cultural Family Exchange Program 1. Vision To create a Christ-centered platform where Christian families from different nations can live, serve, and worship together in Kenya. Through this exchange, families will experience cross-cultural fellowship, strengthen global discipleship, and advance the Gospel among local communities. 2. Goals To share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with communities in Kenya through family witness. To promote cultural understanding and unity in the Body of Christ. To encourage mutual discipleship, where visiting families and local families learn from one another. To engage children and youth in intercultural Christian fellowship. To equip families for long-term mission vision. 3. Program Activities Family-to-Family Fellowship Daily devotion and worship with local families. Sharing meals and cultural traditions. Evangelism & Discipleship Village gospel outreaches. Testimonies, preaching, and children’s ministry. Youth and women’s Bible studies. Community Service Practical projects (e.g., farming, permaculture, widows’ and orphans’ support, school outreach). Cultural Exchange Local language learning (basic Kiswahili, Luo). Kenyan cultural music, food, and traditions. Sharing international culture with Kenyan believers. Children’s & Youth Exchange Joint sports, games, music, and creative arts. Christian education sharing (Sunday school, homeschooling methods). 4. Duration Options Short-Term Exchange: 2 weeks – 3 months. Medium-Term Exchange: 3 – 12 months. Long-Term Exchange: 1–3 years (for families considering mission residency). 5. Hosting & Support ONJ United Fellowship will provide: Safe and welcoming host families or guest houses. Local orientation and cultural training. Ministry placements suited for families (children, youth, women, evangelism). Visiting families are encouraged to: Cover travel and basic living costs. Contribute to ministry through prayer, service, and financial support where possible. 6. Expected Outcomes Families strengthened in their faith and global mission vision. Kenyan communities enriched by cross-cultural fellowship. Deeper unity in the Body of Christ across nations. Today Sermon: Be Strong and Courageous Text: Joshua 1:9 1. Opening Beloved in Christ, today our word comes from Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” This is not just encouragement—it is a command from God Himself. 2. Context Joshua had just taken over from Moses. The task was great: to lead Israel into the Promised Land, face battles, and establish God’s people in a new land. He may have felt fear and doubt, but God reminded him: “I am with you.” 3. Main Points A. God Commands Strength and Courage 💪 Strength and courage are not optional for believers—they are commanded. True courage comes not from our own ability, but from trusting God. Like David before Goliath, courage is faith in action. B. Reject Fear and Discouragement 🚫 Fear is the enemy’s weapon to stop us. Discouragement makes us give up. God says: “Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged.” Romans 8:31: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” C. God’s Presence Is the Source of Confidence 🙌 The reason Joshua could lead boldly was not his experience, but God’s promise: “The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” In our lives—whether in the valley of sickness, financial struggle, ministry, or family trials—God is there. Hebrews 13:5 reminds us: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” 4. Application for Us Today In our families, we must lead with courage. In our communities, we must shine as examples of faith. In our ministries, we must press on, knowing God walks with us. When challenges rise, remember: courage is not the absence of fear, but trusting God in the middle of fear. 5. Closing My brothers and sisters, God is calling us today to be strong and courageous. Not in our own strength, but in the assurance of His presence. So, when you face trials, declare: “The Lord is with me. I will not fear. I will not be discouraged.” 6. Prayer Let us pray: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word. Help us to walk in courage and strength, knowing that You are always with us. Remove fear and discouragement from our hearts, and let us be bold witnesses of Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I pray this message finds you well in His grace. The Lord has placed a burden on my heart to share and reflect on the theme: “Be a True Disciple of Christ, Rooted in His Word, Not Swayed by Worldly Influence.” I believe this is a timely message for us as believers, to strengthen our walk with Christ, deepen our roots in Scripture, and encourage one another to stand firm in faith. so help me understand more as per the below question (Be a true disciple of Christ, rooted in His Word, not swayed by worldly influence. A disciple follows Jesus with obedience, while influence fades with the wind. Stand firm and shine His light,) Am I living as a true disciple of Christ, or am I being swayed by worldly influences? What areas of my life show obedience to Jesus, and where do I still resist His Word? When pressures of culture and society come, do I stand firm in faith or bend with the wind? How can I deepen my roots in God’s Word so that my faith remains unshakable? In what ways am I shining the light of Christ in my family, church, and community?
