- Few ministers have shaped my spiritual walk from a distance as profoundly as Dr. John MacArthur.
Though I never met him personally, his unwavering commitment to Scripture became an anchor during my early years in ministry. Especially when I was navigating weighty doctrinal questions and wrestling with the will of God.
It was through ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ฌ๐ผ๐ broadcasts and his verse-by-verse expository teaching that I found clarity and conviction. He didn’t preach to impress—he preached to be faithful. And his reformed, Christ-centered theology continues to influence how I teach, lead, and live.

Dr. MacArthur stood firm through decades of cultural shifts and theological battles—not for applause, but for the authority of God’s Word. His work at ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ’๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฟ๐, ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐๐ป๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ฌ๐ผ๐ reached far beyond the pulpit.
I must also mention the late Dr. R.C. Sproul—another giant whose teachings helped me see the beauty and sovereignty of God in every line of Scripture. Together, their voices guided me in seasons when I had no physical mentor beside me.
Dr. MacArthur’s legacy reminds me that faithfulness outlives the one who carries it.

Back in Senior One or Two, I had a strange habit—I didn’t like showering on Fridays. Teenagers being teenagers, it became public knowledge.
Fast forward to adulthood—clean socks, boyfriend responsibilities and growth — yet someone from the past still asked me,
Really?
Some people hold on to your past like it’s a birthmark.
Our society is like a memory vault—people keep emotional receipts, screenshots, even body odour allegations from high school.
It reminded me of Acts 9, where Saul, murderer of Christians has a divine encounter and becomes Paul, the apostle. But even then, people weren’t convinced. Ananias said,

Translation: “Are You for real? That one is a murderer.”
Saul had changed, but people still saw him as Saul.
In Uganda, once drama is attached to your name, it sticks. You could be leading prayer meetings, tithing, or drinking aloevera juice, and someone will still say, “But didn’t he…?”
Here’s the truth:
If your change is real, let your character prove it.
Not everyone will believe it. Some won’t come around—not because you haven’t changed, but because they haven’t. And that’s okay.
Transformation is proven through consistency. Show up in your new self again and again until your new you becomes undeniable.
Let your “Paul” speak. The one who has grown, healed, and yes—showers daily now.
Keep going.
Your fruit will speak.
Let me even go and shower for the third time today. Back in Senior One or Two, I had a strange habit—I didn’t like showering on Fridays.
