- What is #orthodoxy ?
Orthodoxy means "correct teaching" and refers to the core truths of the Christian faith. The apostles taught that we must hold firmly to the message they passed down from Jesus. For example, Paul told Timothy to guard the "good deposit" of sound teaching. Similarly, John warned believers not to welcome anyone who taught a different message than the one they had originally received.
2 Timothy 1:13-14 (LSB)
"Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in the faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. Guard, through the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, the good deposit which has been entrusted to you."
Jude 1:3 (LSB)
"Beloved, while making every effort to write to you about our common salvation, I had the necessity to write to you appealing to you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints."
2 John 1:9-10
"Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not say a greeting to him;"
