- Today's, 'A Chapter a Day' is Leviticus 2. I started thinking about the mention of salt in this chapter.
Salt is a symbol of eternity, as it remains unspoiled indefinitely. This mineral, regardless of how long it sits on a shelf, never goes bad and remains constant.
Furthermore, salt plays a crucial role in preserving perishable items, prolonging their freshness and preventing them from decaying.
However, while salt can be life-preserving, it also has the power to hinder life. When salt is introduced to the soil through plowing or natural deposits, it can render the earth lifeless forever, as it inhibits any future growth.
The "Covenant of Salt" embodies complete and unwavering trust in God. By embracing this truth, we are called to be like salt, seasoning all aspects of our lives with faith. Just as salt is essential in grain offerings (see Leviticus 2:13), according to the covenant with God, we too should offer ourselves as a living sacrifice by entrusting our thoughts, attitudes, decisions, words, and actions to God. This act of faithfulness not only makes us "salty," but also enables us to shine brightly as a light for others to see and glorify our heavenly Father, as stated in Matthew 5:14.
May I encourage you to read today's selection and thank God for the understanding of salt? May we strive today to let our conversations be full of grace, seasoned with salt, because then God can work within us to people who bring Him glory and honor. (see Colossians 4:6).

In the process of creation, it is evident that God counts days based on the preceding nights. The Bible does not state, 'The morning and evening were the first day,' but rather states, God called ... the evening and the morning ... the first day (see Genesis 1:5). - I am so enjoying the book of Hosea. Today's 'A Chapter a Day' finds us in Hosea 5.
Although the initial verses of Hosea 5 emphasize Israel's guilt and deserving punishment, it is crucial to consider verse 15 to fully comprehend God's wrath. His anger serves a purpose: to drive the Israelites to seek Him earnestly. This divine wrath is not driven by destruction or pleasure but for the Israelites' benefit. It is through their distress that they are compelled to seek God, revealing their pride and acknowledging their reliance on Him.
Join me in reading Hosea 5 along with a few additional comments and questions to stimulate spiritual growth.

- What a great reminder the Psalmist gives us in Psalm 91:11, "For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." According to the Bible, there are more than three hundred mentions of angels, characterized as numerous and powerful.

"He is Right here with Us"
by Mark Wash
As a result of Christmas, God is by our side. Let's reflect on this truth for a moment. God, the all-powerful God of Angel Armies, the Creator of the cosmos, the Sovereign King of Kings— that very God is with us. You and I. He is near, mighty, and loves us unconditionally even when we cannot see or feel Him.
When I am consciously mindful of this reality, it transforms my thoughts and feelings, dispels my fears, and emboldens me to walk by faith. God is with me. He is present. And His presence impacts every aspect of my life. Jesus is a friend who is fully aware of everything about me.

- Expressing thanksgiving enhances life by transforming our perspective. It changes our mindset from scarcity to contentment, from rejection to embracing, and from disorder to organization. Thanksgiving has the power to elevate a simple meal into a lavish feast, a mere shelter into a comforting home, and a stranger into a cherished friend.Expressing thanksgiving enhances life by transforming our perspective.
