Strength Found in Stillness
(Psalm 46:10 NKJV)
God calls His people to stillness not as inactivity, but as trust. In a world driven by urgency and noise, stillness becomes an act of faith. Psalm 46:10 reminds us that God’s sovereignty does not depend on our striving. He is God whether we are moving or resting.
Many believers feel spiritually drained because they confuse busyness with faithfulness. Yet Scripture shows that strength is often restored in stillness. When we quiet our hearts before God, perspective returns and fear subsides. Stillness allows us to remember who God is and who we are not.
Walking with God means learning when to move and when to rest. Strength grows when the soul is anchored in God’s unchanging rule.
Reflection Questions:
1. What distractions keep me from being still before God?
2. How does stillness deepen my trust in God’s sovereignty?
3. When was the last time I intentionally rested in God’s presence?
Prayer:
Lord, quiet my heart and still my thoughts before You. Help me to trust Your sovereignty and rest in Your control. Teach me to find strength in stillness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Practical Application:
● Set aside quiet time today to be still before God.
● Turn off distractions during prayer.
● Trust God’s control instead of striving.
Takeaway Thought:
Stillness before God restores strength and renews trust.
