1 Peter 3:12 – A Personal Reminder

Did you know? The Lord sees every person who chooses to live righteously. He doesn’t just see them—He looks at them with favor, with approval. And when you pray, especially when you choose to remain silent even when you are hurt for the sake of Christ, you can be sure He listens. God has special compassion for those who do not repay evil for evil, even when it is incredibly difficult.

But remember—God’s face is against those who do evil. Yes, this primarily refers to those who persecute believers. But sometimes, we are the ones doing what is wrong. When we choose to fight back with anger, hurtful words, or even physical violence, we cannot get away with that in God’s eyes. Evil is evil, and God does not condone sin—no matter who it is in.

Did you notice? When Peter quotes Psalm 34:16, he left out the part that says “... to cut them off from the earth.” He didn’t forget this—it was intentional. Because right now, we are still in the time of grace. God is giving us the opportunity to repent, change, and live according to His will. The day of judgment has not come yet. But it will—when Jesus returns as the King of all. On that day, He will handle those who do evil.

So, my friend, if you are hurting because of your faith, don’t give up. God sees you. He hears you. And He is fighting for you in ways you may not even see right now.

God does not want us to sin. Yet when we do, God urges us to return to Him and reminds us that He is faithful to forgive us when we repent (1 John 1:9) and that He has already redeemed us through His display of love on the Cross (Rom. 5:8).
