  • **"Looking Out for One Another"**

**Text:** Galatians 6:2 (ESV) – *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."*

    ---

    ### **Introduction**
We live in a world that often promotes individualism—"look out for yourself," "mind your own business," "every man for himself." But the Gospel calls us to a radically different way of living. As followers of Christ, we are called to *look out for one another*, to carry each other’s burdens, and to love as Jesus loved.

Today, we’ll explore what Scripture teaches about our responsibility toward one another and how we can live this out in practical ways.

    ---

    ### **1. The Command to Love One Another**
Jesus made it clear that love for one another is not optional—it’s the mark of a true disciple.

    - **John 13:34-35** – *"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."*
    - **1 John 3:17-18** – *"If anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth."*

    **Application:**
Love is not just a feeling; it’s an action. Are we actively looking for ways to serve and care for those around us—both inside and outside the church?

    ---

    ### **2. Bearing One Another’s Burdens**
Life is hard, and God never intended for us to walk alone.

    - **Galatians 6:2** – *"Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."*
    - **Romans 15:1** – *"We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves."*

    **Illustration:**
Imagine a soldier wounded in battle. His comrades don’t leave him behind—they carry him to safety. In the same way, we are called to help carry the spiritual, emotional, and physical burdens of our brothers and sisters.

    **Application:**
    - Who in your life is struggling and needs support?
    - Are we willing to step in, even when it’s inconvenient?

    ---

    ### **3. Encouraging and Strengthening One Another**
We are called to build each other up, not tear each other down.

    - **1 Thessalonians 5:11** – *"Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, as indeed you are doing."*
    - **Hebrews 10:24-25** – *"And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."*

    **Application:**
    - A word of encouragement can change someone’s entire day—or even their life.
    - Are we intentional about speaking life into others?

    ---

    ### **4. The Example of Jesus**
Jesus didn’t just *tell* us to love—He *showed* us.

    - **Philippians 2:4-7** – *"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who… emptied Himself, by taking the form of a servant."*
    - **Mark 10:45** – *"For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many."*

    **Application:**
If Jesus—the King of Kings—came to serve, how much more should we serve one another?

    ---

    ### **Conclusion: A Call to Action**
Looking out for one another isn’t just a nice idea—it’s a biblical mandate. It’s how the world will know we belong to Christ (John 13:35).

    **Challenge:**
    This week, ask God:
    1. *Who needs me to bear their burden?*
    2. *Who needs encouragement?*
    3. *How can I serve someone selflessly, as Jesus did?*

Let’s be a church known for love in action.

    **Closing Prayer:**
*"Lord, open our eyes to the needs around us. Give us Your heart of compassion and the courage to act. Help us to love as You have loved us. In Jesus’ name, Amen."*
