I'm sharing my evening devotions by Rick Warren. I added some notes as well. The app I use is Daily Hope. Enjoy😁 BEING FAITHFUL IN A FAITHLESS WORLD The Invisible War Rick Warren Jesus: “When the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on earth who have faith?” Luke 18:8 (NLT) GOD IS LOOKING: - for faithful people “For the eyes of the Lord search back and forth across the whole earth, looking for people whose hearts are perfect toward him, so that he can show his great power in helping them.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 (TLB) FAITHFUL PEOPLE: - are hard to find “Everyone talks about how loyal and faithful he is, but just try to find someone who really is!” Proverbs 20:6 (GNT) “God looks down from heaven on the children of man to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all fallen away; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.” Psalm 53:2-3 (ESV) FAITHFULNESS - is the key to blessing and victory in your life. “Every child of God can defeat the world, and our FAITH is what gives us this victory. No one can defeat the world without having FAITH in Jesus as the Son of God.” 1 John 5:4-5 (CEV) “A faithful person will be richly blessed.” Proverbs 28:20 (NIV) HOW CAN I BE FAITHFUL TO GOD? 1. God uses little things to test your integrity. In the stuff nobody sees. “Whoever is faithful in small matters will be faithful in large ones; whoever is dishonest in small matters will be dishonest in large ones.” Luke 16:10 (GNT) “And if you have not been faithful with what belongs to someone else, who will give you what belongs to you?” Luke 16:12 (GNT) 2. God uses my talents to test my unselfishness. When you serve others you are serving God. “Each one of you should use whatever gift you have received to SERVE others, as Faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) “Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.” 1 Corinthians 4:2 (NIV) WHATEVER I USE WISELY GOD WILL GIVE ME MORE OF. 3. God uses tough times to teach me persistence. Faithful people keep on keeping on. 2 2 Corinthians 4 **Galatians 6:9 don't get tired what is right. “That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NLT) “Let us not get tired of doing what it is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up.” Galatians 6:9 (TLB) 4. God uses shortages to test my generosity. Your finances are the number one test to see how faithful you are. Jesus: “Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home. If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? . . . You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.” Luke 16:9-13 (NLT) • God gives to generous people. • obeying God's vision will bring God's provision. Step out in faith what God has called you to do. • when I do all God tells me to do he does what I can't do. • when I have a need I sow a seed. Whatever you need more of give it away. Example: if you need more energy give more of your energy away. • there is always a delay between sowing then reaping. 5. Faithful people bring friends to Jesus. Faithful people show their faith. If you don't show your faith you are being unfaithful. “Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw THEIR FAITH, he said to the man, ‘Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.’” Matthew 9:2 (NIV) 6. FAITHFUL people build the faith of others. “The things you learned from me in the presence of many witnesses you must pass on to trustworthy people who will be capable of teaching others.” 2 Timothy 2:2 (NCB) “Peter, Satan has asked to have you, to sift you like wheat, but I have pleaded in prayer for you that your faith should not completely fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen and build up the faith of your brothers.” Luke 22:31-32 (TLB)
