Submission Queue Details

This page provides a public view of the current LOINC queue. It includes all requests that have gone through our preliminary submission intake process, except for those requests that may need copyright or other permission prior to being publicly released. We generally process requests in the order in which they were received, though for a variety of reasons we sometimes work on newer submissions before older ones are fully processed.

For each term, the initial information displayed is that provided by the submitter, and in some cases some of the fields may not be populated. As requests are processed, the term information, including the status, will be updated. Once a requested term goes through the review process and is approved, a LOINC code will be assigned. If during processing a request is deemed ineligible for a new LOINC code, its status will be updated and it will be removed from this page. In addition, once a code is formally published as part of a twice-yearly public LOINC release, it is no longer in the queue and therefore will no longer appear on this page.

NOTE: Even after a LOINC code is assigned, the term is still considered to be under development and is subject to change prior to inclusion in a future, public release. All information provided here is for informational purposes only.
