In three weeks, I lost my father, my job, and a few nights ago, our home to a fire.

I’ve gone back and forth about sharing this, because it’s a lot, and because I’m still in the middle of it. But this space has always been where I show up honestly, and right now honest is all I have.

My dad was my steady place. The layoff came while my heart was already heavy. And the fire took nearly all of our belongings including clothes, shoes, furniture, electronics, toys, and everyday needs we all tend to take for advantage, and on top of that it left our home uninhabitable. We’re displaced, and we’re starting over while our home is being reconstructed.

What has carried me is the people. The family, friends, neighbors, and this community who have checked in and shown up. Thank you. You’ve reminded me that even at the bottom of a season like this, we are not alone.

The road ahead is long, but we’re walking it one day at a time. I’ll be sharing our journey here, the hard parts and the hopeful ones. Thank you for being here for it. 🤍
