Live Oak Public Library is a system of 16 library locations serving a 3-county region in southeast Georgia. Our mission is to inspire the community to Grow, Create, Discover and Explore.
In the year ending June 30, 2025, the Library hosted more than 650,000 visitors, checked out nearly a million items, answered almost 200,000 questions, registered more than 1.2 million computer sessions, and presented programs to about 80,000 patrons in Chatham, Effingham, and Liberty Counties. We also maintain three StoryWalk(R) installations in public parks.
Live Oak Public Library does not permit vehicle parking in library parking lots during the period of 10 PM to 6 AM, 7 days a week. The overnight parking ban allows the Library to conduct unimpeded maintenance operations and support community emergency operations as needed.
Exceptions to the parking ban may be granted by the Library Executive Director or the Director of Facilities.
