Guilford Technical Community College offers technical studies as well as personal enrichment classes, from home and garden to foreign language to music, photography and a thriving middle college program for interested students. High Point University, ranked #1 in Best Regional Colleges in the South by U.S. News & World Report, offers undergraduate and graduate degrees. Many cultural, educational and sporting events are open to the public. The University of North Carolina Greensboro is right in our backyard, with more than 125 areas of study and over 80 graduate programs to choose from. The triad area is also proudly the home of 3 out of the 12 Historically Black Colleges and Universities in North Carolina; North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, Winston-Salem State University, and Bennett College.

SHIFT_ED

Shift_ed is a locally owned and operated non-profit organization committed to boldly accelerating student potential. Shift_ed seeks to help Guilford County Schools system students get the support they need to graduate from high school and be ready for postsecondary success. This support starts with the youngest learners and continues until students graduate from college or postsecondary programs. In addition, the program provides tuition and other postsecondary scholarship support to eligible Guilford County Schools graduates to aid in the costs associated with completing a college degree. Starting with its first class of scholars in 2016, Shift_ed has paid over $7 million toward tuition costs for nearly 3,000 Guilford County Schools graduates to attend two-year and four-year colleges in North Carolina and throughout the US.
