New AI tools are released frequently. Here are some resources to help you discover and track new AI tools:
Note: As of October 2024, no generative AI tools have undergone a Privacy Impact Assessment at TRU, which means that no personal or personally identifiable information copyrighted, proprietary, TRU Internal Use or Confidential information, or student work should be shared with these systems, and they cannot be required for use in TRU courses.
Note: Most creative works are automatically protected under Canadian copyright law once fixed in a tangible form. AI‑generated images or media may raise copyright and authorship concerns if they closely resemble existing works or styles, particularly if presented as original creative output. Do not upload or reuse copyrighted material unless permitted, and avoid using AI-generated media in ways that may infringe copyright or misrepresent authorship.
NOTE: AI detectors are unreliable and have very high false-positive and false-negative rates. They may incorrectly flag legitimate original student work as AI-generated or fail to detect AI-generated content. False-positives are particularly common for text written by people that aren't writing in their first language. Relying on AI detectors without human judgement can result in unfair assessments.
None of the detectors listed below have undergone a TRU Privacy Impact Assessment; submitting student work to them, particularly without their knowledge or consent., may raise privacy and security concerns,
