My Get-It-Done story was a Yuletide treat, written for wordsofastory:
The Robber Bridegroom (1971 words) by just_ann_now Chapters: 1/1 Fandom: Swordspoint Series - Ellen Kushner Rating: Not Rated Warnings: Author Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings Characters: Richard St Vier, Original Characters, Canon Male Character Additional Tags: Humor, Yuletide Treat, Gap Filler, Introspection Summary:
He hoped his mother never found out. She'd sent him to the city to become a swordsman, not a highway robber.
Thanks for the encouragement! This is a great community.
Got it done!! I'm posting a few days late, but I did finish writing the fic on the 8th!
Title: On The Treetop Author:gryfndor_godess Fandom: SPN Pairing(s): Bela/Dean (ish; more like pre-Bela/Dean or angry, unwilling Bela/Dean) Rating: PG-13 Word Count: 6,300 Warnings: Mpreg! Summary: Dean’s four months pregnant. He needs his baby mama like he needs a hole in the head. And Sam won’t stop treating him like an invalid made of glass. His contract’s not up for two more months, but this already feels like Hell. AU S3.
Yes, it's time to Get It Done, or get your excuses in... No, seriously, I'm delighted a bunch of people have delivered on things they've been meaning to do over the past few months, and a few more are on the verge of it. (And at least one is Getting It Done but constrained to post during another challenge, opening in a couple of weeks.) Random deadlines ftw!
This comm will remain open for posting to allow those of you nearly there to post in the next weeks, and I'll aim to put up a masterpost before Christmas. But anyone posting later is still welcome. We're more about the progress than the timekeeping (Stern Puppy notwithstanding).
If you've done what you intended, or progressed what you hoped, have a puppy button to celebrate:
If there's demand, we'll be back next year for more random deadlines.
And now I have to go read some stuff because it's been *killing me* to see all your posts and have no time to enjoy them.
Title: Telling Porkies Author: Beer Good (beer_good_foamy) Fandom:Buffy, season 2 Rating: PG13 Word count: ~3,500 Characters/Pairings: Dawn, Mr Gordo (background Buffy/Angel) Summary: A different angle on "Becoming". Buffy thinks she has problems with Angel turning evil? Well, boo hoo. Dawn has to deal with a possessed stuffed pig trying to raise an army to end the world. Written for letsgetitdone 2013. Thanks to angearia for the inspiration.
Only little kids believed in monsters in the closet. And only really weird little kids believed in evil, demonic, fluffy pigs in the closet.
So here it is: Jensen in spaaaaace, aka the fic that ate my life lately. I hope you enjoy it. And even if you don't, the *art*, people, the *art* you have to see! The ones included in the fic are only half size, so go look at the art post for the real thing. It's glorious.
Summary: Jensen is a space captain. Jared is a space whore. When Jensen gives Jared just one chance, the kid takes it. They travel through hell and beyond, though that's partly astronomy, not metaphor. And in the end, maybe it wasn't the kid that needed saving.
Originally for a prompt in the To Boldly Go ficathon hosted by deirdre_c. I posted a little ficlet, and couldn't let it go. This, um, happened. And then, amazingly, cassiopeia7 happened, and made me think about practicalities and aerodynamics, and just what Hell's Gate should look like – and just look at what she made for this story. We hope you love both fic and art; we definitely loved creating them!
So, here it is - the final story in my Spike/Giles season 7 series (which is still searching for an overall title. I thought of Secondary Theatre - as in, theatre of war, Sunnydale being the primary theatre of the war against the First in season 7. But if you google 'secondary theatre' (or indeed 'theater') you just get links to secondary school theatre programs. So perhaps not?).
Anyway, this may not be what some of you were expecting as the end of this series, but it is the way I always imagined it ending. And it is a series. There are many references in this story to what has gone before, for which see here for previous stories in the series. I'll put up a link to the series on Ao3 when I've posted it there (which won't be till after I have an overall title. Sigh!)
Setting: Charles Robson's flat, London. The evening of the same day of the previous story, Secrets. Rating: PG-13/R-ish (mainly for swearing and mention of attempted rape). Pairings: Spike/Giles. Mention of Spike/Buffy. Beta: dwyld read it through for me. All mistakes are mine, of course. Author's Note: That's it! No more WIPs.
Stern puppy wants to know. Stern puppy is here to remind you that the Get It Done posting deadline is 8 December which is only a week(ish) away, depending on your time zone.
Stern puppy also REMINDS YOU that there is no point in signing up for a random deadline if you do not RESPECT THE RANDOM DEADLINE. Please respect the deadline.
Stern puppy quietly mentions there may be a possibility of extensions and late posting if necessary, because, you know, life happens even when you're getting stuff done for a random deadline. Stern puppy hopes you're not reading this part, though.
Searching for Jim Author: sparrow2000 Written for 2013 fall_for_sx Characters: Xander, Spike Rating: PG overall Genre: Slash relationship, but not in the actual story Warnings: little bit of angst Word count: 3,500 Disclaimer: Joss and Mutant Enemy et al own everything. I own nothing Summary: Spike and Xander are in a cemetery – well of course they are... Beta extraordinaire as always: thismaz Comments are cuddled and called George
When I realised I wasn't going to get done the story I'd intended, I decided to do an extra entry for this year's fall_for_sx so that I'd feel I'd achieved something. So here it is...
Links below to the penultimate story in my Spike/Giles season 7 story, begun in 2008. Previous stories in the series can be found here. Also, the final story is completed in draft. It just needs beta'ing (and possibly completely re-writing, we'll see), so it will appear before the end of the year.
Setting: London, BtVS season 7, some time before Bring on the Night. Rating: PG/R, for some violence and swearing. Pairing: None as such in this part, though some Spike/Giles UST. Beta: Beta'ed by hello_spikey, to whom many thanks. Author's Note: This story carries on immediately from where the last story left off. As previously explained (in one of the earlier stories in the series), when writing Molly the potential Slayer, I just could not bring myself to write her as that horrible Dick Van Dyke from Mary Poppins' granddaughter type character so I just made up a different character with the same name.
Thank you for running this comm again!! Thanks to it, I wrote 3,500 words this weekend and got it done today! \O/ Not in time to post today, but I'll do that this week for sure.
Easiest would be to put it on your journal and link here, then you can lock down your post after a few days. Or if you really don't want to put it online yet, you could always write a mini book…
