Artwork

The sun shines through the leaves and makes its way to my window. The breeze moves branches and clouds casting playful shadows on the windowpane. I watch through blinds, safe from the heat, and I appreciate innovative invention. My window is a frame holding the artwork of nature for my enjoyment.

An Overcast Bear Hug

An overcast sky looks like it holds secrets that it is busting at the seams to tell. It’s waiting for just the right moment.

The sun has hidden away, finished with its work for the day and the overjoyed clouds fill the sky. They are thick, gray, and heavy like a blanket covering everything protectively.

Under the clouds, a slight breeze moves the trees and cools the air after a humid day.

Some days a bright afternoon is relaxing and some days, like today, a gray sky feels like a bear hug.

In The City

Buzzing bees busy about their business
Breeze blowing between buildings
Electricity wriggling along the wires
Horns honking harshly
Disrupting my appreciation
Of some of the subtle sounds of summer

A Change Is In The Air

Cool crisp gentle breeze
Morning and evening signs Fall
Against harsh noon heat

Doody Calls

20160416_141515

A cool gentle breeze blows, indicative of a change on the horizon. It feels crisp and fresh, and I would enjoy it more if it weren’t 3 AM. I lean against the front porch column in the shadows cast by the streetlight. With my eyes closed, I try not to doze and drop the dog’s leash.

My sweet, geriatric old lady dog’s digestive system governs my sleep schedule, and tonight is a three poop night.

Coconut palms sway –
Warm sea breeze rides ocean waves
Disembarks onshore

Music Haiku

Blowing ocean breeze –
Gulls sing harmony with waves
A summer serenade
